I have two 2 week old kittens, whos mother has been gone for a day and a half, they crying non stop, how can i keep them alive if tehre mother doesnt come back? how long can they last withought their mother before they might die?

today my sister and i took our cats to get rabies vaccines at petcos. when they tried to give my cat a shot she started growling, so the lady threw a towel on her and it looked like she was choking her or something. anyways as soon she covered her up w/the towel, the cat lost it. it got messy. (blood everywhere) and only 1 of the cats ended up getting her shot. what i was wondering is... is this a common way used by vets to calm animals down? u would think it would have the opposite effect...(and it did) my cat never scratched the vet before.

Our feline keeps chewing power cords. She just chewed through a headphone power cord. She chews the metal around erasers. So far she has not chewed through anything plugged in.

I got a kitten, she is 9 months old. She keeps attacking my other 5 year old cat. I yell at her and easily spank her but and then put her in my room for a few minutes by herself. It isn't really working. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any Purina dry cat food being recalled or has anyone else had problems with it? I have two cats, one of which was put on a diet so I purchased Purina Cat Chow Lean. The following day, my youngest cat began throwing up repeatedly. I had to take him to the vet two days in a row where they had to put him on medication and inject him with fluids...twice!! I haven't seen anything about this brand being recalled but it's so hard to keep up or find the most updated sites. The only that changed was that I began mixing his regular food (Purina Cat Chow Indoor formula) with this food the day before. Although it doesn't contain wheat gluten, it does contain corn gluten and wheat, so I'm concerned that there might be something wrong with this food as well. I haven't fed it to him since and he's been fine but I'd like to know why he got so sick. If anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate their help.

My cat is only 1 years old, and recently stopped eating and drinking water. I just noticed this morning that he is losing weight. He is not acting like himself. He is not playing or running around. Just laying down and walking slow. I noticed hes been sleeping in the bathroom a lot, and in the bathtub. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. Anything I should know?

I really want to get this cat help, but he has alot of problems on the outside. He/she is now used to me going outside and putting food out and water. But it has open, huge sores behind its ears. It was rubbing its ears against our window and left blood chunks. its bad. it hurts and has a hard time breathing. I really want to help it but there is no alley cat allies in my area. This poor cat has been through enough and it needs help. I am scared to catch it because I don't want the poor thing to have a panic attack and die on me. I've taken in kittens and still have two of them. but this is a grown cat with visible problems. If you have any advice on how to catch and not cause any harm please let me know. I'm really freaked out about this because of the blood on the door. He was trying to mark us and my heart hurts every time I see it.

My cat has been trying to cough up a hairball for a couple of days now. He just can't seem to get it up. He can still eat and drink because his bowls are being emptied, but he is coughing and hacking a lot. I've tried giving him a little butter to see if that would slick things up but it hasn't worked.

Does anyone have any tricks or ideas? He is very picky about what he will eat, I had to pretty much force feed him the butter.

My cat keeps spilling his water. I have tried a couple different bowls - with large bottoms, heavy, rubber rim on the bottom, etc. and he somehow keeps spilling it without knocking it completely over.
I never catch him doing this, so I can't spray him with water or yell or anything.

Any suggestions?

my cousin gave me a cat named karma. shes really sweet and is an outdoor cat. the thing is she always goes to one of my neighbors. sometimes when i call her next to the neighbors house she comes but most of the time she doesnt. the neighbors are really nice. Well, for some reason I have this craving to buy a dog whistle & expect all of these friendly neighborhood cats & dogs to rush to my backyard. But I don't just want dogs because some are quite scary.

She is an excellent mum, but my other cat (her brother) has abandoned me...he wont come to me for cuddles etc anymore. I am heart broken, as i love him to death!!
I tried to introduce him to the kittens a few days ago, but tried to attack them, so i put him outside....did i do the right thing?

Any advice as to what to do to help him accept the new kittens??
