I have recently noticed a lump between my cats shoulder blades and was conserned as i have never noticed before. Could this be a gland?

No, I wouldn't say it was normal at all.
The best thing to do would be to take the cat to the Vet.
It's possible that you're feeling the cats back bone and that's not a good thing either.

Please take kitty to the Vet and have him/her checked out.

Good luck, I hope kitty gets a clean bill of health.

No; that is not normal. Is the lump on an njection site? You know, a spot where a vaccine needle was inserted? Sometimes cats develop these lumps from injection sites. Sometimes the lumps can become cancerous. Best have a vet look at it as soon as possible just to rule that aweful scenarion out. On a better note, the lump could just be a fatty deposit. My cat had two of them 2 years ago and they just went away on their own.

No it's not normal, this is not part of a cat's anatomy. They do not have glands between their shoulder blades.

Please take your cat to the vet to find out what this lump is - it could be an insect bite, but these do not normally cause reactions. Lumps can be very serious so please do not delay - it might be nothing, but it might be serious. ANY problem is best caught early.

It could be a mild reaction to the cortisone shot, I would wait it out but keep an eye on the size of the lump and as you said her eating and sleeping habits over the next little while. If she shows any negative signs at all then yes go to the vet by all means.
