Not to alarm you or anything, but are you sure it's fleas and not head lice??? My niece got seriously infested over the summer and they are a major pain to remove. Have someone check your hair to make sure they don't see dandruff like flakes on the shaft of the hair, it will look like dandruff only it won't move if blown on like dandruff would, those are lice eggs. If you don't have that then I'd follow the instructions on washing your hair with flea shampoo and I would bomb your entire house. If that doesn't remove them a professional exterminator will.
If by some unforseen chance it's lice, do not buy the over the counter products they are a waste. Saturate your hair in WHITE Vinegar and wrap your head in a towel for 30 minutes. Rince and repeat one more time. The acid in the vinegar will kill them. Wash your hair with a 20% coal tar based shampoo (you can find them in the drug store for Soriasis) continue washing for two weeks after your treatment, it will kill any eggs that hatch. Another tip, lice hate the smell of Tea Tree, buy a shampoo with Tea Tree oil in it.
Good luck.

It's possible. Do you have pets? If so, take em to the vet to get them safely de-flead and then ask the vet how you can safely rid your home of fleas and flea eggs.
I had to go thru all of that when my kitties had fleas. Once you get it under control, it's fine.
Don;t use Harts or Sergeant's flea products-- those products have been known to kill cats and dogs. Advantage is very good.
Also, don;t use products made for Dogs on Cats-- Cats have totally different systems and what's good for a dog can poison a cat -- even in small doses!!!!

No they don't - fleas lay eggs in carpets and dry nooks and cranies in the house. What is happening is one or two fleas have jumped on your head, took a feed and jumped off again. When this happens, you know that it is time to flea-bomb the house.

Fleas most certainly can. You will need to fumigate your home. The problem you're facing is to kill the eggs laid throughout your place. They can stay dormant for up to 12 months, becoming active when you or your pets come in contact with them again.
