Your vet will tell you everything you need to know. Nobody can diagnose general symptoms like these without an examination, blood work, and x-ray.

The only thing you need to know at the moment is that you're doing the right thing by taking him to the vet.
These symptoms are general, and may be indicative of many conditions, so no one on here can give you a diagnosis. Be patient, tomorrow isn't far away! (if you can get him in today tho this would be better, especially if he hasn't eaten anything for over 48 hours) You're doing the right thing, good luck xx

If you ask 200 people why a cat might vomit, you could get 210 right answers. Cats vomit for jillions of reasons. He could have hairballs, eaten plant material, eaten foreign objects, eaten fish food or other toxic material, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal parasites, a food intolerance or allergy, gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, colitis, colangiohepatitis, liver disease, heartworms, diabetes, a viral or bacterial infection, esophagitis....there are way too many reasons to list here. Its going to be very hard for you to diagnose and treat his problem without taking him to a vet. Blood tests, prescription diets, x rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, parasite screenings might all be needed to get to the root of the problem. The various problems may be treated with hairball remedy, weight reduction diets, easily digestible diets, increased protein, decreased protein, more carbs, less carbs, more fat, less fat, antibiotics, anthelmintics, antiprotozoals, steroids, proton pump inhibitors....etc etc depending on what the diagnosis is, and as you can see what treats one condition may be the OPPOSITE to what is needed to treat another condition, so just trying things could make him much worse instead of better. If he seems to be fine, its okay to wait till after the holidays to take him to your vet. The vet will examine him and look for pain in certain areas on abdominal palpation, do a stool test for parasites, and talk to you at great length about his diet and housing and everything related to the vomiting, then come up with a diagnostic and treatment plan that you are happy with and can afford. Just switching the food around is not going to help, the over the counter foods are not going to make any real difference. Royan canin is a reputable company, if its a food problem you need to have veterinary guidance to logically choose a different diet. Happy holidays, and good luck with your kitties!

It could be anything. It could be a poisonous bug bite or just what he ate. Haven't you heard the news????? My cat Amber came home one night and was extremely scared. She wouldn't let me touch her and she wouldn't eat or drink. Anyways, you sould take him to the vet ASAP to get whatever he has diagnosed.
Hope your kitty gets well!!!!
