She was out all night and came home limping. She would need to see a specilaist for surgery. We simply can not afford it. She is on antibiotics and pain medication now. Looking for other answers.

It seems that every month we are going through this. He went in in Feb for a blocked bladder, was put on meds and a special diet...then he got a UTI that has been hanging around for a couple of months now and the vet is cleaning out my savings, I love my cat but I can't afford these vet bills. Is there something I can do at home to cure this? It would be heartbreaking for me & my 11 yr old if he has to be put down. Please help.

We just spayed our cat about a week ago,and now there appears to be a medium sized lump under where the insision is. Should we take her to the vet? Is it scar tissue? She seems to be acting just fine...but we just noticed it this morning. If you have any ideas on what it could be, please let me no.
Thanks,
-Rachel

My cat doesn't really have a set time to eat, so even if I've tried to train her to eat when I'm watching she just won't do it, so I have to leave her bowl in there for when she gets hungry.

But that's leaving a very nasty problem - I live in an apartment complex with a neighbour with a very questionable hygiene routine. Since I guess the cockroaches figured out that there's always food and water available, a bunch of tiny cockroaches will just come out of the walls and ruin my kitty's food.

I've tried to move her plate to various places, but they always seem to find that spot, which really gets on my nerves because I try not to leave any crumbs of foods outside for them. I tried to use anti-cockroach repellant, but I think they're immune or something.

I'm also very hesitant to continue to do that, because I don't know if it'll harm my cat's health. Does anybody else have this problem? What can I do to keep the roaches away, but keep my kitty fed and healthy?

We have an indoor cat who is not on flea medication right now. We are getting a dog who will be on flea medication. We asked our vet if we should give our cat flea medication too and she said it was up to us. Do you have any experience with this? Should we put them on flea medication or is it unnecessary?

I have a beautiful dollfaced flame point himalayan named marshmallow. I have had him for almost 8 months now. I went to get him neutered today, and to my suprise it is not a boy! I am so confused and do not know how to feel.. The vet and the breeder confirmed that it was a boy. Shes still beautiful to me. I am just so weirded out by it!

We have two cats; when I'm holding one in my arms in front of a mirror; it looks like he's looking in the direction of the mirror, which looks the same way when he's looking at a wall. I'm not asking if they recognize themselves, I'm just wondering if they see any reflsection?
If anyone has a talking cat; could you please ask him?

When she falls asleep.. she seriously knocks out!!!!! i sometimes think she's even dead... i've had many cats.. but none like her... is that normal?...
..i mean... the only reason i believe i find to believe she's still alive is when i put my finger on her nose and notice she's still breathing ..other than that.. i would think she's dead... it's even scary!!!

This is a state bill from California that mandates that all pets be spayed/neutered by 4 mos of age. Exemptions will be made for licensed breeders, working dogs, etc.

I am considering getting a dog but I have two cats. Both have all their claws intact (since we thought it was cruel to declaw them). Is it too late to try to introduce a new animal to them? I'm scared they might seriously hurt the dog with their claws (though I'm not too sure how much a cat uses their claws in a "real" fight - I was told many different answers). Both cats are 9 years old and have seen other animals but never really interacted with a dog that much. One is extremely timid and I'd imagine she'd run away from the dog most of the time, but the other is very outgoing and "alpha-like," he thinks he's the king of the castle. So would anyone know how to introduce them or have any experiences with having a dog and a clawed cat?
