It sounds like an abcess, you need to take her to the vet to have it drained and then she will need antibiotics. Don't do it yourself!

It's probably an abcess. I've had this happen with my cats and it's been either dental or the results of a wound from fighting. I'd get the cat into the vets as soon as possible. (make an emergency visit if need be)Kittie will need antibiotics. Infections can damage the bone and they are very very painful. If you've ever had a tooth go bad or a gum infection then you can relate.

If she's an outside cat it could be this. It's gross but very common. You need to take her to a vet. So they can remove it. Good luck!
The Cuterebra is a bee-like species that lays its eggs near the entrances to outdoor animal dens or burrows. The eggs stick to the fur of any animal that brushes against them and they hatch into larvae, which penetrate the skin, enter the body through a natural opening, or are ingested when the animal is grooming. The larva usually migrates to an area just under the skin on the head or neck of the animal. It then matures under the skin for about 3 weeks, and creates a cyst that can be as large as a marble. The larva creates a tiny hole to the skin surface in order to breathe. This telltale opening is certain evidence that the suspicious growth contains the Cuterebra larva.

If it's full of water, it's a cyst, which mayn't be too serious. However I'm not making a diagnosis as I haven't seen the lump or the cat!
Please take the cat to the vets asap, only they can help. If you're that worried, then it is an emergency and needs to be seen.

Cyst or abscess. Maybe tumor. Could be a gland (happens in unfixed males.
Try peroxide, or iodine, in very small quantities on the cut. If the peroxide fizzes, it is an infection.
Go to the vet, IMMEDIATELY. You'll probably get 50 mG per mL amoxicillin. But go to the vet anyway.
Don't just ask us cyber-losers.

Go in for a checkup with the vet.
This happened to my dog, there was a lump on his side. And they took some cell samples and sent it to the lab and it was just fat.
But if you JUST noticed the lump it could be some type of wart. If it is something serious hopefully you caught it in time, but they way you are describing it...is what my dog had on his side...just some extra fat.
Hope things are alright

It sounds like an abcess. Your vet can drain it. It may be infected and she may need antibiotics to clear that up.
These can be very painful and if left untreated animals can even die from the infection that can happen.
These are fairly common in cats and your vet will know what to do.

take her to the vet, with an old cat it could get infected real quick. it will be drained and stitched and your cat will be fine if its a cyst if its something else it needs to be caught really quick. she may have got bitten or cut and that could then have gotten infected this would cause an abcess. dont leave it to burst cause its really nasty.
