I've heard alot of things on the news and stuff about tuna fish being bad for people to eat alot of. So I'm wondering if the same applies to cats. I"m trying to take care of this cat that was abandoned by his owner who got put into rehab. But I'm poor myself living on ssi and food stamps. The best I can do is feed it tuna that I can buy on my food stamp card but I don't know if that's really what's best for the kitty. It's probably better than him starving to death.

I'd love to hear from people about the size of their pet cats.

My big boy was just weighed at the vets today. He weighed 9.8kgs (21.6 pounds). He's not fat...just big-boned.

Anyone got a monster bigger?

One solid white, don't want the typical whitey, snowball, etc---the shelter had named it Q-Tip.

The other one is a calico and Callie won't do. Again the shelter had named her Taz.

Since I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 9, I don't have 'human' kids. My cats ARE my children, they are baptized, have birth certificates, buried in a real casket with a real funeral, and in a real HUMAN cemetary that I own.

I've had 2 male cats for the past 19 years. My tabby, MacKenzie Corey passed away August 19, 2005 at the age of 18 and his brother Mookie Wilson (jet black) will be 19 on June 18th if he makes it. They are truly the children of this old 46 year old woman. I'm sure, as always, there will be some on here with silly postings to this question but I am most serious and I thank you ahead of time. God Bless.

I recently had stuffed shells from a restuarant and loved them, they seem pretty basic though, no riccotta cheese, or cottage cheese or anything like that. Does anyone have a recipe for meat stuffed shells? I mean good recipes, not back of a box recipes, a recipe that your mouth would water just from reading it, lol. Thanks for the info

My cat, Casper is sick. I don't know why. He has lost a lot of weight, has patches of hair on his head and neck that have fallen out, and is very weak. When I hold him, when he breathes, you can feel rattling. Please help, because my parents don't want to take him to the vet, and I want him to get better. Thank you!

I've heard mixed things about this. Some people even deem it as animal cruelty. I am considering it because my cat scratches me all the time. He scratches other people also. I would like to see answers from people who have personal experience with this.

My neighbors abandoned their cat and now i am taking care of it. It is an outside cat. It had kittens and I found them recently. The kittens can walk (wobbly) , they have teeth, they meow, they can climb, their eyes are opened (and blue). There are 5 of them. I take care of 4 neighborhood cats and I dont know how old the kittens are and when I can give them away. I have some friends who want them but i dont know when I can give them away and if i do give them away, what should i tell the new owners about feeding and everything?

Hey!!

About a week ago i asked a question about how I could "speed up time" until I got my kitten in mid May but I had a call from a family friend who is a veterinary nurse who said he had found some kittens which are ready to come home on Sunday!

Two of the kittens are just 5 weeks old; their mother was in a bad way when she was found and didn't survive through the night after her kittens were born. I have told the veterinary nurse that I would like one of these kittens. Was this a wise choice seeing as they are so young?

The other kitten was 12 weeks old. Would this have been better for a first time cat owner? (My parents have, however had cats in the past).

Also, which is your favourite colour choice?
- Black
- Black and white
- Tortoiseshell

Thanks to anyone who replies!

My cat is about 11 years old, his original owner passed away three months ago and myself and fiance have been taking care of him.

He won't eat, it's been 4 days, he keeps getting twitches, his left eye went completely blind, he has thrown up white foamy stuff and sleeps all day long.

I called 7 different local vets and animal rescue, begging for a monthly payment plan because I do not have the money to take him to a vet up front, all of them said no...

It kills me to just sit here and watch him dying but I have no other choice, I cannot afford the vet whatsoever.

Any tips on how to deal with this and make him go comfortably? he won't let us pick him up or pet him anymore.

My two cats, both 15 years old, have just been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, and the vet is recommending they take methimazole for treatment. Does anyone else have cats with this disease? I'm looking for side affects and ways to get them to take the pills. ALso, does anyone know life expectancy on this medication? Thanks for any help.

I was in my room and heard a lot of commotion in the living room. I walked out of the room to find that my sister was screaming at our cat. She told me window was blowing and my cat jumped up and got stuck in the window. When she went to help him out, he bite her. He also attacked my minature pincher. I then try to feed the cat and place him in the bathroom away from everyone, and he attacks my leg. We found this cat when he was a just a little kitten outside. He is constantly trying to get outside and sometimes succeeds. This is not normal behavior at all. Could my cat been scared because of the window incident or is there a chance he might have rabies?

I know this may sound crazy, but I have a friend who actually declawed her own cat, and funny enough, the cat is doing fine and not destroying her furniture anymore. My friend has not gone to vet school or had any previous training and her feline friend is doing just fine. I am just wondering if this would be the best alternative since I don't have quite enough money to get Whiskers declawed. She explained to me how she uses a certain sedative so Whiskers does not feel anything, and uses peroxide to prevent any infection. Her cat honestly looks fine, and I am thinking about asking her if she would not mind allowing me to watch Whiskers get declawed, and then I can perform the surgery on my other cats.

I have 2 black kittens 4 months old, bit too young to be neutered yet but desperate to get outside. I have let them out in the garden which is surrounded by a 6 foot high fence and they have just discovered the tree at the end of the garden which allows them to climb on top of the fence and walk along it. My boyfriend says they'll be fine - we should just let them go, but I'm scared they won't come back! Also I'm worried how they will get back in the garden as there isn't a tree they can climb up on the other side of the fence!! What shall I do??

I already have two 9mth old Norwegian Forest Cats, but I didn't have a job when they were younger. Now I want more kitties, but will 2 young kittens be okay on their own? will they get bullied by my other cats?
If it makes any difference, I want to get another NFC and a Somali cat.
