What concerns should I have (beyond the obvious) should I have transporting my cat cross country with me from Oregon to Boston in a car? Should I just find a large cat carrier? How often should I let him out. Do elevation changes hurt cats etc...?

My cat must think my closet is a litter box. It is the only other place beside outside and it's actual litter box that it wants to go. In fact it even makes extra effort to charge in the room when I open the door.....Wierd. I used to have 2 cats with the same problem now I only have one, if this keeps up I will be catching mice the old way, with a trap!!! My house is new NO other animals have used the closet as their personal potty before this. What is the deal and how can I make it stop?

What are the similarities and differences between FIXED male and female cats? In my experiences, male cats are generally more easy going and affectionate, while female cats tend to be more moody and independent. I would like to hear from your experiences with male and female cats as well.

I have two kittens, a boy and a girl who are siblings. They get along well. The boy is more affectionate than the girl, who is a little bit aloof. If i got another kitten, would it get along with my other 2? I would rather get another boy kitten since i like their personalities better, but would it be a problem to have two male cats in the same house (yes they are fixed, and i would get the 3rd one fixed as well.) In general, is it better to have 2 boys and a girl, or 2 girls and a boy?

have a kitten and another cat about a year old--I also have a 9mo old baby at home and my cats are wild ALL NIGHT! They just run through the house constantly and its gotten to the point where they've woken up my son a few times this week--what can I do to make them calm down; I've tried using a spray bottle w. water and also tried the newspaper noise (that might work for dogs only, I wasnt sure)

Help!!

I just put some soft claws on my 5 month old cat. Some of the caps are hidden between his toes, while others are visible. Some of the visible ones are a little crooked. Other cats ive seen with the caps have had all of them visible and straight. He isnt bothered by the caps, though he has been licking his paws more often and now shakes his paws every once in a while. I hope im not hurting him. Can anyone with experience help me out?

my 15 year old cat was recently diagnosed with severe kidney disease and its highly important for me to know if its better for me to feed her a diet high in protein consisting only of meat and half cooked liver (she seems to eat this better than other foods) or a diet consisting only of veterinary reccomended Hill's brand canned cat food(which she wont eat). If anyone knows please let me know and if possible also any tips on how i can make her eat more. thanks.

Ok first of all this is the 3rd question i've asked and my cat is about six weeks pregnant and after this litter we are getting her fixed!!! I am not going to be cruel and aborth the kittens. I wanna be a vet when i get older and well i want this experience so ya.I can't bring inside because my mom won't let her come in so ya. I'm afraid she give birth somewhere i cant get to her and what do i need to do to prevent that. How would i know that something was wrong? My moms friend says that its an incredible thing watching cats be born and i don't wanna miss this.Should i buy kitten toys for them and everyone says i should start looking for homes should i or not?My moms friend tok her cat and kittens to a farm that is really cool.It takes cats in and doesn't put them down or anything so i think i might do that. What if shes not a good mother?please help me!!!

My cat just gave birth two days ago. Kittens are doing great but she just did the strangest thing. She just went to the bathroom in my living room. She is very well liiter box trained and has used the fresh litter since the kittens have been born. However, she just choose to use my carpet instead. It was somewhat runny stool and the stuff in her box is not. Is this why she didn't use the litter box or does it have something to do with the kittens. It wasn't an accident either I heard her meowing and then straching and by the time I looked she had already went.
