There are probably more internal stitches, but she stands the risk of infection especially from using the litter box and if she licks it. If you cannot get her in to the vet or emergency vet today then try and get some "butterfly" bandaids or medical tape that you can cut in to strips and have someone help you hold your cat so you can gently pull the wound closed and put the tape horizontally across the wound and keep doing this until you have closed the incision. Then i would just watch her so she doesn't tear off the tape. You could wrap a bandage around her middle(not tight) to keep her pulling off the tape or doing anymore damage.
The stitches are meant to disolve after a few day, but the same day is too soon and the incision will not have closed enough to hold without the aid of stitches. Take her into the vets the next day if not sooner.

That is unacceptable. Our girl pulled her stitches out as well, yet her wound did not open. The vet said it was fine, but again, it did not open up. I think you need another opinions. Call a different vet.
Actually though I just remembered someone else that asked this question about the same situation and then they posted back what happened - although that wound was closed. The vet on call suggested them to wrap some t-shirt material around her belly so that nothing would get in it and she could not pick at it... until she could be seen the next day and sewn up again. I think you should make sure she stays really still and does not leap up onto anything, that could do some damage.

As long as it's only the outer stitches (the ones keeping the skin closed) she should be fine. However if it's those and the layer underneath the stitches need to be replaced. Having the surgery site open allowed for bacteria and dirt to infest the area which could lead to infection. Also make sure that they give you an Elizabethan collar (E-collar). Those are the plastic cones that go around their neck and head to prevent them from licking the incision and pulling out the stitches. Hope this helps and good luck!

Take her back to the vet or another vet. My cat pulled her first lot of external stitches out whilst I was at work, and got a bit of infection during that day. She had to wear a trumpet collar, and I had to wash her wound with salty water 3 times a day. Since it was on her tummy she didn't enjoy having to be turned over, but we managed. It just took a lot of time and I felt guilty for having put her through it.

This happened to my cat when she was spayed. We had to take her to the vet, and they kept her in overnight to re-do the stiches and to check that she didn't have an infection or anything had got in. She turned out fine, but she had to have a lampshade collar on for a few days to stop her pulling them out again! I would take your cat to the vet, just to be on the safe side.

Seems like the vet would want to see her now..but I am not a vet so.. If you are waiting til tomorrow try wrapping some gauze around her to cover the "hole" keeping it clean. If you don't have gauze try ripping strips from an old t-shirt and Gently tie that around her.
Good luck
