I have 2 cats, coco(female),casper(male), about same age 1hlf yrs, coco ive had since she was a kitten and brought casper in as a stray 3/4 months ago had them both done at the vets so no kittens and spraying. Coco just hates casper she is really mean and screams if he comes one bit close to her shes gone really nasty and growls all the time and runs away when she hears him he meows at her being nice, but he is the friendlier cat out of the two she is a bit more wild and is only nice when she wants to be. The growling hissing has been going on ever since we brought him into the house ive tried everything, putting them in the same room and spraying her with water when shes bad doesnt work ive tried tapping her on her nose at other times and she gets worse and even when shes outside she growls and runs off she sits upstairs all day now and doesnt come down unless shes feeling brave i have give up now and ran out of ideas what to do does any1 have any different suggestions?ty 4 the help

I have been using the Fresh Step scoopable litter for quite sometime. I know the pros and cons of using scoopable v. crystal v. regular cat litter, and after my years of having cats, the scoopable is the best for us. My concern is that it seems the Fresh Step scoopable is much more dustier than it used to be. Whenever I add litter to the box, a dust cloud hangs over the box, and the dust "sticks" to the cats' coats making them smell like the litter. It's great otherwise - good at keeping odor down, clumping pretty quickly. Does anyone have any recommendations for a scoopable litter that isn't very dusty? Thanks!

My vet says my cat has allergies, I think it may be cat mange, he scratches alot, wiskers are very short and he has bald spots, he eats science diet food, i have change to natural organic food, nothing helps, what does mange look like and how do i treat it with going to my vet who I think is an idiot. Can't afford to see a new vet at this time or I would do that. Any suggestions? He is an indoor cat at night and I put out during the day . I really love him, and don't want he see him suffer, he cleans himself and purrs, but he is ugly looking, Help!

I have owned my cat for over 4 years, and I have recently gotten a new cat. My cat *Einstein* is terribly mad about this and insists on trying to hurt my other cat. How do I get the cats to get along? Should I get rid of the new cat?

Recently I've changed my kitten's food from Science plan to Iams as it is wildley available, and..... I think she weights about 2.5kg she gets one pouch in the morning( which dissapears within seconds) and than we leave her dry food for the day. In the evening she gets another pouch and we leave dry food for the night. She doesnt eat all the dry food but she loves Iams wet food and keep on crying for more!!! Bare in mind that we've cut the pouches from 3 a day to 2 a day as I didnt think that was normal for her to eat so much! She has an acces to the gardens so she runs a lot, but I am worried that maybe she has worms or something?! how much dry and how much wet food I should feed her a day?

I recently leased a condo in dallas and after moving in and neighbors seeing my cat the residents began telling me about a cat leash law and my cat would have to stay indoors. I am aware that dallas does have a dog/cat leash law but have you ever lived anywhere that made you walk a cat on a leash? I was not aware of this before my move and i checked the current hoa bylaws for our condos and it states the same thing that all other leases say all pets must be walked on a leash. I asked several residents and was told that 4 yrs. earlier there had been a big debate about the issue and that the board of the hoa made the decision to enforce cat leash law. why did the board decide instead of putting it to the resident vote? can they make me keep my cat inside?

If I let my cat eat as much as he likes (not anything, only healthy dry food), do you think he will get really fat.... or just kind of find a medium? Any ideas?

I have 2 Burmese cats, sisters born and raised together, 2 years old, BOTH SPAYED, never been apart. BOTH HEALTHY, I HAVE ALREADY CONSULTED MY VET ABOUT THEIR PHYSICAL HEALTH.

Suddenly they have gone from being the best of friends to absolute hatred in a matter of 2 days. Jemima, always the dominant one, is making growling noises and "squawking", Ruby is cowering and hiding in terror, if they see each other they hiss and spit and then Jemima attacks viciously. It's really scary.

We recently introduced a new female cat to our household. She is playful, energetic, and loving to people. She also plays with our male cat who appears to enjoy playing with her. However, this same type of play activity is not tolerated by our other female cat (the male's sister) who now lives almost entirely under our dining room table now. Our female cat is shy to begin with. The new cat now shows aggressive behavior to our female cat when she tries to use the litterbox, eat, or drink. We have placed several food/litter stations in the house but the behavior continues to exist. We have tried "Feliway", separating the two cats and reintroducing slowly, but nothing seems to limit this aggression. If anything, it only seems to get worse. Now, our female cat is scarred to venture into other areas of the house. She is not losing weight or messing on the floors so she is eating and using the litterbox. How do I get these two cats to learn to leave with each other?

hi,

i dont know why but my can doesnt want to eat meat, it only likes the juices that come from the box. She licks all that and leaves the meat behind. Next day, when there's lots of dry meat left, she starts miawing like she's hungry. I have tried many different cat meats.
I always make sure she has plenty of water and dry catfood, she eats that no problem.

What should i do? Should i give her no meat at all? In the end it will just be ruined. Is there a special cat food thats only liquid?

I have a kitten that is about seven months old, however, she is quite nosey and likes to get into everything she possible can. She will tear apart my room until she finds my hair ties and she will take them in her litter box and burry them.

Okay for starters no bashing. What's done is done i know a lot of people say its inhumane but a baby is more important than a cat.

It's been 2 days since my cat has eaten or used the box. Ever since we got him declawed. He has been very irritable and lazy and doesn't walk much. Is there any reason for this. My other cat also got declawed neutered and shots and he was fine.

Any thoughts...Thanks in advcance

I just purchased a new kitten the other day, and while she was fine the 1st day, she has now developed watery eyes! Can anyone tell me what is wrong with her? Is it ok to use saline to wipe along her eyelids?
She is still eating good, but seems to be sleeping a fair bit!
Please help me!

How do they get along? Is it difficult to have 3 cats get along with each other without them fighting or one being left out? In your experience, what is better to have: 1 cat, 2 cats, 3 cats, or 4? I have 2 kittens, boy and girl, and i was wondering if it would be ok to get another cat or kitten.

I live in a fairly humid area and I am finding it impossible to keep the smell of kitty cats from wafting through my flat. I have two cats and two large litter boxes that are sifted every day and cleaned completely every week. I have tried a variety of litter types but nothing seems to stop the stink. I don't like the perfumed litter but I am interested in hearing what other people use.

I have also tried a variety of different foods on my boys but nothing seems to change the smell. Any ideas would be great because it's getting annoying.
