One good solution is get your kitty a friend and companion...another kitty. A scratching post, large enough to climb on, is good too. They also have videos for entertainment for a cat. But the best thing to do is to be sure you leave a window uncovered so they have access to watch the outdoors.
There are many toys on the market so just keep buying different ones till you find the one your cat enjoys the most.

Oh yes I have this problem with my skinny cat! She jumps and won't stop meowing in my face until I pet her endlessly! Then I can finally get some sleep.. but sometimes she'll go on for a long time.
I found that by brushing them and playing with them everyday for a lil while they don't tend to bother me when I try and sleep. They like the lil 1 inch mousies that come in a package of 3-8 that are filled with catnip.. For Christmas I gave them an electronic "bee".. it beeps when they bat it.. cost me $6 but they love to stomp on it with their hind feet!
Hope this helps!

Get one of those enclosed type toys where the ball is inside and the cat can smack it around but never get it out. Or a laser pointer. Lasers don't work with all cats, though, my cat is a lil slow and doesn't get it but if your cat gets it it'll be tons of fun for both of you.

they need lots of attention..mine is the same way. I was gone for most of the day yesterday and when I got home she was a toot! i have found when i give her lots of attention (petting her, playing with her or just being around her) she is soooo much better. i'm hopeless on the sleep issue though..no matter how much attention she gets is the same thing every night.

I keep my cats busy with toys.
Their favorite are little fabric balls with bells in them.
You don't have to purchase anything, get an old box and hang some string in it, they love to play in boxes.
Hope this helps.
