My male and female cat sleeps in the spare room at night, they are fine with it, they have there food and kitty litter in there..we dont let them wonder around the house at night because they knock things over and annoy the hell out of us..

They are all happy and that, but usually once or twice each night, the male cat will start screaming and meowing so loudly and eeriely, i have never heard him do this, or any other cats make this sound in my life.

we recently moved here, and im not sure why he is doing it.

could something be scaring him or could someone be coming into our yard?

My cat is 20 yrs old, but she is in great health. She tends to do these weird meows when (she thinks) no one is around. If you were to walk into the room where she is she quits. They are so LOUD...you can hear them outside. but she is not in pain (we hope). Why would she do this...

A family emergency has come up, and I need to leave the country for a few weeks (up to 3.5 weeks). I have a five-year-old kitty who is a little people-shy, and I think the best option right now is to board her at the vet's. However, I've never boarded her for such a long time, usually when I board her it's only for a week or two at the most.

Should I expect any negative effects for boarding her for so long? Usually when I board her and take her back home she's really happy and a little angry too. Is 3.5 weeks to long to board the cat?

Our cat was hospitalized last year for having a struvite crystal blockage in his urethra. He almost died, and we ended up with $500 in vet bills plus a $40 per ten pound bag cat food bill for his special prescription diet.

Well, to be honest, we are tired of paying for this ridiculously high-priced cat food. There has to be something we can do to his diet here at home that will solve this problem. They say his urine needs to be kept more acidic and less alkaline to prevent the crystals form forming, hence the special cat food that CONVENIENTLY can only be purchased through our vet!

I'm not saying we don't love our cat, but surely there is something we can change about his diet here at home that will solve this problem. If not, then we need to explore other options.

She is 11 months old. She was getting bigger (8lb) and then one day she came home really skinny. She was only 4lb. And now she has hard milk. and she sleeps more than she used to. She looks like she is hurting and I want to know if there is anything I can do or give her to make her feel better? Please, serious answers only!

My cat is 5 years old, and we just got a puppy 5 days ago. They met once, while the puppy was sleeping, and as soon as she moved, the cat hissed (which she's never done before), and ran back to our bedroom, where she's been pretty much ever since. I want them to co-exist...will it happen? Am I expecting too much too soon, or will the cat 'come around'?

Intelligent answers appreciated!

Can she compose? Does she know she is composing music, or is this typical cat behavior?

I don't want to subject my poor kitty to the vet AGAIN, but I want to collect a urine sample from him for the vet. I took out all of the litter from the box, thinking that he'd use it anyway, at the recommendation of my vet tech, but he hasn't used it! Should I try to wait it out? I figure he'll eventually use it, but the thing is I have two cats, so I have to keep an eye on who's using it...what about when I'm not here, or at night?!

Thanks in advance for answering my kitty questions.

The mother is part Ocelot and the father is mostly black with a white chest. I can only imagine the beauty of these kittens.

I have an 8 year-old male tabby cat. He has been fine for years but now wakes me up every morning at 5 AM. He started doing this at my old home but it would be inconsistent. During the past few months, it's been going on every single day. He meows in my face and scratches at the door. He is pretty quiet during the day and never even bothers to open the door. Overall, he is an angelic cat but he becomes a nightmare at 5 AM each day. He meows for 30-90 minutes but then gives up and goes to sleep.

I don't know what to do anymore! I feed him late before bed, clean out his litter pan, etc. I don't know what else to do. MY quality of life is suffering because I wake up tired and cranky. I sometimes oversleep.

I feel that he has gotten worse and more spoiled ever since I started feeding him wet food every day, as per the vet's recommendation. I feel like he wants more wet food and refuses to eat his dry food.

Help!

A few days ago my cat began to sneeze and act like he was coughing up a hairball every now and then. I made an appointment with a vet but it's about a week away and the condition has worsened into glogged nasal passages and just within the last day or so he couldn't jump up onto a futon that was only a foot high and now he won't even walk a few feet w/o sitting back down. He seems to be straining to breathe at times and his breath smells really bad. I really dn't want to wait 4 more days until his appointment but more importantly, does anyone have an idea what I could be dealing with?. Just a couple weeks ago this cat was jumping all over the place.

I know this may sound weird, BUT, I got a new baby kitten last week and the lady I got it from said it was 7weeks old and the kittens HAD TO GO THEN! So I took her, now she must miss her mommy alot because everytime my children or myself holds her she starts sucking on our arms or neck..We tell her NO and push away and take her to her food bowl but she just walks around and cries:( She even sucked a baby kitty hickie on my arm today! What can I do to make her stop? Also, when is the earliest I can get her spayed? I heard 12 weeks, is that right? And, should I declaw her at the same time or do the surgeries on different days? She will be kept inside, just in case your wondering. Any input would be great, thanks..
