Neech (short for Nietzsche, named after the philosopher--but also because it sounded a lot like "Kitty" which is what he was called for the first 2 yrs of his life) He was tabby striped & white (black & gray stripes w/a white tummy) (As Cindy so sweetly put it: he went to sit on God's lap last year at 16 yrs old..)
Baby (she was the "baby" when we got her) Also called Heffalump, Lump. Baby Lump, or Lumpy because she is a 16 lb calico!
Luna (she's pure white w/gold/green eyes) named for the moon. Also goes by Looney, Luna-Tuna, Looney-Tunes, of Tooner...
Mouse (a shy little tortie) was named for the "squeak" she had when she was little. She didn't meow--instead, she squeaked like a mouse! Also called Mousey, Moose, Moosey, Moo-Moo, or Moosey-Moo. And she has recently taken on the name & identity of Computer Mouse--she has taken to sitting on the keyboard on my laptop if I leave it sitting open! (And then looks hurt or insulted when I ask her to get off the computer! lol)
And my father (who claims to hate cats) refers to all of them as "Dog"--as in "Hey, there, Dog!" (Which I have heard him say to them when he didn't think anyone was watching him...lol)

Lady Bug Liz
we call her ladybug
Her original name from the humane society was "liz"
but she looked SOOOO much like our other cat which was named "butterfly" (RIP my sweet kitty) and we wanted to name them similar (as if they were sisters) and went with ladybug Liz {thats whats on her name tag id}

My cats name is "JD" which is short for [jack Daniels]
He is a tom and he has always known his name.
I got him from my Neice and her most liked drink at the local clubs was [jd] so that's how he got his name.
