My kitten's whiskers grow a little then break off. They are very short now and I'm concerned.

My cats lose their whiskers just like any other hair. Are you sure that isn't the case with your cat?

If its a kitten and really active, this is just from contact with a lot of stuff, and is pretty normal. My kittens whiskers were always half broken off from their little stunts - and my orange tabby had almost nothing left. It freaked me out too but they grew back later once things calmed down a bit... he had two siblings that went non stop at their games. However if your cat has always had a nice set and suddenly they have changed and are falling out, its a sign that his health may be suffering. Even so, cats do lose a whisker here and there - just like our hair or eyelashes they fall out and are replaced.

Something is missing in the kitty's diet-check under content if it says BYPRODUCT stop feeding for Byproducts arae the junk part of the animal not much if any real meat-which the kitty needs for is a dietary requirement-get a good quality cat food from petstore(Not Grocery od WalMart and such) but Petfood store-Feed my cats only Nutro for is a qualtiy catfood that has all the nutrients cats need Petsmart or Petco carry good food brands. Presently to make sure kitty gets suffiecient animal protein feed some cooked chicken(Not Fried) and cut up into small pieces about 1/4cup daily , can also give some cooked brown rice for is easily digested and helps digestion overall. Brewers Yeast tablets can be bought at Petfood stores are a excellent Food Supplement and the nu of tabs depends on weight. My cat present loves and will eat the tablet but have mixed in food if cat not crazy about it-you'll see a difference within a day in the coat will be fuller and shiny and should help greatly with the whiskers problem.I feed the kind tht hve garlic(helps against worms, fleas and protects against disease,Zinc,Vit E and Omega 3 and 6.Your kitty will love you for it.Do not give your kitty raw meat, ever.

Like humans, cat hair is somewhat determined on genetics. Not all kitties are born with long, sleek, sexy whiskers (just like not all humans have soft, shiny, sleek Pantene ad worthy hair). Some kitties are dealt with the stumpy, brittle, uneven whiskers (like most of us really).

Some breeds can't grow nice long whiskers like the Devon rex. They just break off when they reach a certain length.

Of course it also could be effected by environmental factors such as what they are being fed as well as the climate.

Don't be worried. They grow back. Both my kitties can't grow long whiskers either.

If its a kitten and really lively, that is in simple terms from contact with truly some stuff, and is fantastically favourite. My kittens whiskers were continually 0.5 damaged off from their little stunts - and my orange tabby had virtually no longer some thing left. It freaked me out too yet they grew decrease back later once issues calmed down slightly... he had 2 siblings that went non provide up at their video games. notwithstanding in the journey that your cat has continually had a tremendous set and by surprise they have replaced and are falling out, its an illustration that his wellbeing would nicely be suffering. nevertheless, cats do lose a whisker the following and there - the picture of our hair or eyelashes they fall out and are replaced.
