Is it normal for cats to like having baths? My cat smokey just took a bath and he loved it!

Some do like taking baths though it's not all that common. Most cats hate water but once in awhile you'll find one that adores it. One of my cats LOVED water, he would sit in the shower with me every single time he got in the bathroom when I was in. He would even get in just to let it run on him.

It's not all that common but my neighbor has a cat that LOVES water... he gets in the shower whenever anyone is in there, he likes to get in the sink when you do dishes, he even lays in the dog's water dish. So if he were my cat I would be happy that he likes water, it will make it easier for bath time.

Lots of the big cats as in tigers leopards and panthers like water and swim often.
Not all domestic cats hate water I've had cats that love it and some that hate it.
Sure makes flea baths easier when they like water.
Have fun with your cat maybe buy him his own little pool this summer.

Most cats don't like water or baths...mine HATE baths. However, my old cat that I used to have (he was really old) one time, jumped into the bathtub...and kept walking under the water..We took pictures of him too...so...I guess you could say it depends on your cat!

i think the thing about cats not liking water is a majority thing....i have had three cats in my life (including the one i have now) that love water and being bathed.....they also showered with me

I don't think it is normal my cat hates a bath but she likes having her nails clipped

My mother gave her cat a bath every week, and he too loved it. I've never attempted with mine! I don't think it's real normal, but most can learn to tolerate it.

Ohhh! You have an awesome cat. It's not that he is abnormal....it's just the majority of cats hate baths...but some cats love them...Trust me, your cat is one of a kind...definatley a special one!! ( :

there are certain breeds of cats that do like water. and sometimes if you start giving kittens baths when they are young they get use to the water. but other wise they just dont like water.
