I am truely a dog person however, I do own four cats I got from the shelter. One of these cats a very large beautiful grey tabby is addicted to toilet paper. He tries every trick to enter the bathroom when someone enters. He never touches it but stands there smelling it. Is there something in the toilet paper?

i have no idea, but if your cat is like mine its just one of those wierd ones. my cat licks the blinds on my doorwall and any plastic bag that enters the house.

Mine used to use his front paws to spin all the toilet paper off the roll so he could have a confetti party on the bathroom floor. I fixed this by turning the roll upside down, so you grab the paper from underneath the roll rather than from the top. He never bothered it again.

Some cats have quirks. Yours happens to like sniffing the toilet paper. I have an 8 month old kitten that is obsessed with socks. She will sneak around the house at night stealing them from the laundry basket, kids room, etc. She takes them into her room and stashes them. She doesn't chew them or play with them, she just likes to collect them.

Some cats just like special things for no good reason. For example my cat will jump in the bathtub and stare at the faucet until I turn it on to a drip for him so he can play with the water, but he doesn't like being wet, he just likes playing with water. This is just one of the weird things my cat does. Some cats like water for no reason, and some cats like toilet paper for no reason. They're just like us. ( Only we don't sniff toilet Paper)

I am dog person as well but really familiar with cats as well. Cats do stiff toilet paper and are very unconvential in behavior they are really funny at times

Probably. Many brands of TP have dyes and perfumes. You can buy brands without to see if the behavior will change. I had to start keeping the TP under the sink 'cause one of my cats would shred it.

LOL this question almost had me shooting tea through my nose lmao....animals are like people in that I have rarely met one that did not have a weird quirk lol. I have a cat that is obsessed with water and will hop in the shower with me everyday lol.

sounds like kitty has a touch of OCD behavior. the best thing to do is close the bathroom door , or ignore her behavior, and she may just get tired of sniffing the tp.
