I had a female cat who started having seizures when she was 8 years old. The vet put her on a 1/2 tab of phenobarbitol twice a day. The only way I could control her seizures was if I was religious about giving her the medication every 12 hours. If I got home from work late and gave it to her more than 1 hour late, that would be the only time she would have a seizure. If I was on time, she would be fine.

I am not sure if there are any foods that can help. Epilepsy in humans is hardly understood and it's a very rare condition in felines as compared to canines. In fact, it turned out that my cat had a brain tumor and not epilepsy at all. She passed away this past Thanksgiving. Has your cat had an MRI or CT Scan? I wish I had spent the money to do that when she first started having her seizures. Maybe then I would have been able to save her life with surgery. I miss her terribly. I hope your kitty just has epilepsy and not what mine had. But at least the seizures were controllable with the medication when I gave it to her regularly. She had a very good quality of life on her meds and was a happy girl. Good luck with your kitty.

Rest in peace, sweet JoJo.

This may take you a while but there are several places found on a google search for feline epilepsy supplements

You may be looking for something such as this to go along with the medication perscribed by your vet.

I know how distressed you feel. We had our beloved German Shepherd that had multiple seizures every 2-3 months even tho he was on meds daily.

GOOD LUCK HON
