I cannot believe that this would get you so uptight..........???
What is wrong with you..................... all you need to do is find a safe place for your hairbands/ties/whatever and let kitty play with the others. The colours and pleasure he gets from playing with them is obvious, and quite obvious you dont play with him!!!!!
When my kitty did this I found out why he did this, its because he wanted more attention from me, and from this it led to shooting the coloured hairbands in the air for him to catch, before I put them on my fingers to shoot I say "'are you ready."
Still to this day, when I get home from work have had my coffee, he goes and fetches the hairbands and we play....................

i can relate my cat will get socks and carry them in the litter box, among other things. Ive watched him pick them up and he will start growling like he has caught a mouse and he will run to the litter box and stay in there for a few minutes. i think it is like a hunting game to them and the litter box gives them the seclusion that they want. you will just have to keep your hair ties in a jar or something or even try spraying some hair spray on them to give them a bad taste.

Oh ow, my 1 year old male cat is obsessed with hair ties. He loves to find them in cabinets and drawers and deposits them in his water dish. Sometimes, he gathers 5 or 6 at the bottom of his water dish.
He will watch me to find out where I have hidden them. I can put them in back of the drawer, and he still gets them out. He knows all the hiding places.
I have started using big, black scrunchies because he doesn't take a liking to them.

solid for you for adopting from an animal look after! Your new kitten might basically consume and drink a splash the 1st few days. She only had surgical technique and he or she's in a wierd new place. as long as she's enjoying and purring, she could be superb and could consume and drink extra over the subsequent couple of days. that is common for kittens to sleep a impressive style of the day, waking with bursts of potential that final an hour or extra earlier that is naptime returned. even nonetheless, if she seems limp, listless, or susceptible or if her habit differences, get her to the vet promptly. Kittens are rather fragile and it would not take lots to kill a kitten. in case you basically have dry nutrition to furnish her, get a splash canned cat nutrition and furnish her some. Canned nutrition has a severe moisture content fabric, it rather is powerful via fact cats many times do no longer drink a impressive style of water. it rather is a robust thought to feed cats dry nutrition for one meal and canned nutrition for the different. Kittens could consume extra in lots of instances than person cats, approximately each 3-4 hours. do no longer provide her milk; it may disappointed her abdomen. and are not getting interior the habit of giving her 'human beings' nutrition; it is going to basically prepare her to beg and make a pest of herself on each occasion somebody's ingesting. make advantageous her clutter container is able the place she'll experience risk-free and can have some privateness. Her nutrition and water should not be close to to the clutter container (might you prefer to consume close on your bathroom?). Her clutter container could be wiped clean on a daily basis. some cats could be very choosy and could no longer use their clutter container in the event that they think of that is too grimy.

Certainly--no problem! keep all your hair ties & thingys in a closed plastic container or a drawer that she cannot get into. She can "admire" from afar! Good luck with this---it works.

That's cute.
You're going to have a bigger problem if she eats one of them and it causes an intestinal blockage.
Keep them away from her. You = human. She = cat. You're smarter. Get a box that she can't open and keep them there.

You hide the one you like and let it play with the rest or go to the dollar store and give your kitty the cheap ones.
