... IT'S NICE AND COOL TO THEM. HELPS THEM STAY A CONSTANT TEMP SINCE THEY CAN'T SWEAT!!! YES THEY CAN PANT TO LOWER THEIR TEMP BUT IT TAKES ALOT LONGER THAN A COOL SINK. JUST LAY IN YOUR TUB NAKED AND SEE HOW FAST YOU COOL DOWN AND YOU'LL SE WHY THEY LIKE IT IN THE SINK!!! GOOD LUCK.................................................................

__It's true that cats don't sweat so they like to lay in a cool place to bring down their body temperature and when they get cold they will lay in the sun. Cats and dogs can only lower their body temperature by panting and that can take MUCH longer than a cool sink, tub, or infront of fans and air conditioners. A cat is very smart and they don't do things just because. They know what they are doing and that's why they are so independent. As long as you leave out food and water for an inside cat then they need nothing more from you. Have a great one,,, purrrrrrrrrrr!!! lol...

That's all wrong. Not many cats like lying in sinks, actually. The ones that do lie in sinks lie in them because they fit just right in sinks, and it's up away from the ground level so they can see around the whole kitchen. Plus, many cats like to lick off the beads of water in the sinks. (dont ask why)

This is a good one, so get ready. My cat (strictly indoor) wouldn't get off my sewing machine for almost a week last year. Then she moved to the bathtub. Finally, a friend came over and clued me in! SHe was infested with flea eggs! SHe wouldn't even walk on the carpet except to run through! I doubt that thats the reason your cat likes the sink, but Katie (my cat) was alittle bit smarter than I thought. By the way, i gave her fleas cause I brought them in on my shoes after cleaning a house that was infested

I think it is because they like being in the way and being cool at the same time. The sink does both... although I did have a cat once that did that because he prefered to drink water straight from the faucet. I guess he figured that way he would be closer to it.

your cat actually likes water? i wish mine did, he wont even go in the bathroom without meowing anymore. my cousin's cat would lay ine teh sink all the time, some times cuz he was thristy but other times just cuz it was comfortable

I have two kittens who love to do that! They're mainly in the bathroom sink, layin in there or trying to get water from the tap. even when its not on. Nuts I know, but it must be cooler for them
