Hi ,y kitten recently had a case of upper respiratory infection. I took him to the emergency vet and they gave him iv shot of antibiotics and also tested him feline leukemia which came back negative. He is not sneezing or hacking anymore but he still can't jump up onto a futon that is only 12 inches off the ground and he will only walk a few feet at a time then lays back down. Could he possibly be that weak from the infection that he can't do anything?

I have recently brought home some new cat toys with bells on them. I have 2 cats, they have had these kinds of toys before. One of my cats plays with the new toys with no problems and enjoys them. The other has grown fearful of them and jingling the bell makes her run and hide.

What's causing it?

I have moved into my own house from my parents, I had a cat there and absolutely adore them and really miss not having one around. Unfortunately the day the i moved in the man next door asked "you don't have a cat do you, my dog killed my cat" to which i was devastated. Do you think i should risk getting a kitten? Would it know to keep away to avoid being hurt? I couldn't stand if anything did happen to it?

I would appreciate all advice.

my cat has a tumor on his leg the size of a large grape. i dont have the money to have it removed and my parents refuse to pay for it. how long will he live? he has had it for a few years and it doesnt seem to be affecting his attitude, appetite, play/sleep habits, anything! he acts like its not even there. he is an older cat at 9 1/2 years old. i just want to know how much longer he will be with me if it is cancerous. best answer gets 10 points. thank you.

My cat has recently started howling at my closed bedroom door. It used to be that he would just meow when we were in there and going to bed, but now he does it whether we're in there or not. We just recently had him fixed (about 2 weeks ago) and he responded fine, so I doubt it's a heat -- if males can go into heat. We also make sure his bowl is always filled, his litter is clean, and we play with him until he's completely tuckered out. Anyone have any ideas as to why he's so whiney all of a sudden? It's driving us nuts.

I have a 7 y/o American Shorthair female cat. She's otherwise very healthy -- eats, drinks, plays, etc. -- but sometimes her back legs shake and she has to lie down because they're weak.

Has anyone ever heard of this? It comes and goes every week or so. Please let me know if you've ever encountered this. I'm very worried for her. Thanks.

My cat is acting normal, eating & all. but he is getting a bald spot on his throat, under his chin. it isn't red or nasty looking or smelly or anything, it almost looks shaved. it was a tiny spot last week, as of Saturday it got bigger. I'm not sure if he could be licking it raw because of the location, should I be worried? Maybe let it go for a few more days to see if it gets worse or he starts acting differently? Anyone know what this could be?

I have a grey, black white stripey-ish cat and every year (more or less) she loses her fur near her bottom area ? This is supposed to be normal for these type of cats but why does it happen ?

My bed smells like cat pee, but there is no evidence that he actually peed on it, he went through a bad spell and peed on the bed a couple of times a month ago, but there was no puddle or stain that would have showed he peed on it earlier.

I have a cat. He will be 2years old in May and is a male. Since he was about 1 year old, hes tried getting out of the house. My mother made me get him declawed. I was only 17 when I got him and did not know how terrible declawing a cat is. Also, now that he IS declawed, I really can not let him out becuase he would have no way to defend himself - other than his teeth. & we live in a very woodsy area, with lots of wild animals. I dont want him out there

Whenever we open the doors, he sneeks out from behind his hiding spot and he darts right outside. we have to spend hours sometimes trying to get him back in.

I have a large bedroom, with my own bathroom and such. I have had to keep the cat in my room for the past 2 or 3 weeks to prevent him from running out the door. His litter, food, water, pet bed, and toys are all in my room. there are also many windows in my room and he enjoys laying in the sun. However, I dont think its fair for him to be in here all the time.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my question, I hope you can help. My cat has been sneezing like there is no tomorrow this weekend and this morning I noticed she has two like "cold sore" blisters on the outside of her lips, other than this she is fine, eating well and is her normal playful self.

I can't make up my mind whether she has maybe caught her lip whilst playing outside or if it is connected with her sneezing?

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced their cat having these type of "blisters" and what they did about it?, do you think I should take her to the vets and get it checked out?

Many thanks!

I am looking to adopt a kitten from a home and not a shelter. I live in south eastern massachusetts but i am willing to drive to Rhode Island or anywhere in MA. I have another cat, she is very little and needs a play mate. I would love to be able to adopt an older cat but I think she would adjust better to a kitten because it would be smaller than her.

I've just found 3 abandoned kittens. I am feeding them once every 3-4hours. They are very young, and their eyes aren't open yet. So I am only using a syringe to feed them. The problem is daytime I am not around fro long hours and no one can feed them. How to keep them fed, without starving during the day?

What kind of cat food do you give your cat and does your cat have any problems like diarrhea? And why do you suggest giving "this type of cat food" to your cat?

I bought it because of the good review and all. Thing is, it smells like detergent powder. Well, it smells good to me, but is it safe for my kitty? My cat sneezes once or twice each time he gets to the litter box. He only sneezes when he smells something extremely strong like my husband's boots after visiting engine plants.

For months now we have had a cat that constantly sits outside our catflap. It waits for my cat to appear and it always attacks him. I dont understand why my cat only screams at this bully cat but will never attack it. Its cost me loads taking him to the vets to get infected bites seen to all because he doesnt fight back, very frustrating. But i really need some advise to shift this other animal without having to lock my cat in the house. Does anyone have any genuine answers out there, thanks : )

Hi, I have 2 cats one is Kiki, he is 4 and fixed and declawed, and I have Skeeter he's about 2 months old and was a throwaway kitty That we rescued from the Michigan winter not too long ago. I need to know how old a kitten has to be to be declawed? The landlord insists on having all animals declawed and fixed. There's no way that I'll move because of this. He'll be declawed no matter what. I also have leather furniture and yes he has a cat tree that he sharpens his nails on, he hasen't touced the couches yet I already know all the horrible stuff they do to the cats when declawing , so I don't need that information. I just don't want to be evicted for not having a cat declawed.
