Your cat should settle down when you have her spayed. Have you spoken to your vet about when? It is usually recommended around 6 months for female cats.
The only other thing I can recommend is heat packs for her to sleep on, we all know that when it is that time of the month for us a heat pack on the stomach does wonders.

Cats in "heat" can make some outrageous sounds that make them sound like they could be in pain, but honestly they are not.
It is soo normal. The cartoons of yesterday used to portray them on the fence caterwalling at all hours of the night, until someone threw a shoe at them to shut them up, because they were obnoxious. Frankly, if getting her fixed is not a problem for you.... then find out at what age she is able to get the procedure done, then go for it. Most Vets judge age by the cats teeth that have come in. >this is especially good to note for stray cats, or cats with an unfamiliar history to the person bringing them in to be checked.

Well first of all, your cat is not in pain. Unless you want her to have kittens 2-3 times a year, I would recommend that you have her spayed. It doesn't take long and it probably is your best option. Another option is to give her the pill. There are different kinds though (weekly, fortnightly...) and you should probably discuss all the possibilities with your vet!

My cat did same thing that noise is her calling potential toms to tell them shes in season you will find that when they find her they will call to her and spray near your home better off getting her spayed as i ended up with 4 litters of kittens. The most awkward thing is if she does end up having kittens you have to wait for her milk to dry up completely before they spay her and chances are she ll be out calling for toms before then. As soon as you take the kittens away they go out again looking, Its very embarrassing she used to walk backwards rearing her backside in the street in the summer infront of all the neighbourhood kids! Then i had all the local toms in my back garden it was like something out of that Stephen King film Sleepwalkers. People often think tthat they should let the cat have one litter but it is far better to spay as the cat knows no different not like humans who know what being a mother is about.

Our vet spayed our kitty at 4 and a half months. We thought that was too soon, but she said the sooner, the better. Kitty is fine now and never went through heat. She is still her very playful self. The hardest part was having her stay at the vet overnight....we missed her.

This monthly cycle sounds weird, cats come into season twice a year, plus she is still too young. Go to another vet for second opinion, and ask him to do tests on her (blood and urine tests).

Oh the poor thing, I would get her spayed asap, she is old enough now, and she will settle down nicely once you have done that, my cat used to be a right noisy bugger but then I got her spayed and it was a god sent lol
Good luck with her, hope she settles down soon.

I've never owned any female cats, only male, but I've heard my friends talk about the meowing and howling that their female cats do when they're in heat. I'd say your vet knows what he/she is talking about. But when the time is right, whatever your vet suggested, get her spayed.

She is not in pain - she is just calling for a mate. If you don't want to have the offspring of the local tom on your hands, get her spayed as soon as possible.
