It's trying to tell you that you pay too much attention to the computer

This is common when you have a single cat. I have two cats and that lessens the likelyhood of one becomming a pest. Still one of my cats likes to come in by me from time to time. When I am on the computer I won't let him up. I just let him stay under the desk by me.

Here is a tip that might help you. Cats, by nature, can expend a lot of energy at one time but sleep most of the other time. Even lions and tigers are like this. If your cat wants attention and you are too busy, grab him and rough house with him for about three minutes. I keep an old ski glove around which I put on and attack my cat with. He will bite and claw the glove while I grab his belly or feet. After a minute or two I take off the glove and give it to him. He will continue to wrestle with it for a little while more then realize that he "killed it". He then takes a nap. In just a couple of minutes he will have gotten the attention he needs, some exercise and will leave you alone.

Cats are like that. The people who they love the most they seem to want more affection from. That’s a good thing. Don’t ignore your cat! If you ignore him it still won’t work. He’ll just be coming back to you every time. It’s a cat’s way of saying I love you. Just give him the affection you owe to your cat.
~I hope this helps.

They love you and they want to be everywhere you go. In my mums case when my mum went in to hospital my cat wondered where shed gone so now she don't leave my mums side and when mums ill she is like mum what is wrong with you and looking after her and sitting on her lap etc. Cats are loyal animals I think.

Your cat is really a highly evolved being from Planet Meow. If you would give him his time on the computer, you might learn something! He is trying to teach you something....something about Answers and Pink Salmon.

for dogs, their mentality is this: you feed me, wash me, shelter me, play with me, you are god.
for a cat, their mentality is this: you feed me, wash me, shelter me, play with me, I am god.
That explains why cats think you have to give them your attention, as and when they want it.
