Hi, on my cats back he seems to have an area that bothers him. I'm not sure if it's dry skin or something else, but there are alot of white flakes around that area and he hates to be brushed or touched in that area. He actually sometimes bites if you touch, rub, or try to brush his fur in that area. Any ideas on what this could be and what maybe I could do to help him?? The vet just tells me it's dry skin and to give him fish oil. Please help. His skin is not red or looks irritated so I'm confused on what's going on. There's just flakes and the fur seems a little stiff. Thanks

Our cat insits upon meowing throughout the house at 5:00am. Besides locking her away (too sweet a kitty to do that), does anyone have any humane ideas?

I am so upset. My cat just had a seizure and died, I don't understand, he was only eleven years old, and completely healthy. I let him outside for one minute, he came running back to me, and as soon as he was across the threshold his body cramped and he let out a loud meow. Then he passed away. Was my cat poisoned? He has never had a seizure before, and he died so suddenly. If anyone has seen something like this before i'd really appreciate any information. thanks

A couple of years ago my cat would have a problem. She would pull out her own fur like mad. We thought it might be the heat in the winter. It wasnt fleas because we have 2 other cats and they didnt have fleas or pull out there hair. My mom thinks that it might be the cat was threatened by the other cats there all females though. This was a couple of years ago. She doesnt pull her fur out anymore

I have two cats, One is four the other is one, not related, boy and girl, both fixed and most of the time get on great. They sleep together, groom each other and its lovely to watch but the younger one, bella who is a 1 years old BSH is very dominant and can be a little too playful at times and when it goes too far Gizmo has to put her in her place. I understand this is normal. And I keep cleaning up their chosen battle grown afterwards. But at what age Does a BSH british short haired calm down? Gizmo is a persian and he's so layed back he just lets her pick on him. Its usually at night which means redirecting her attention isn't always an option. Advice would be grately recieved from me and gizmo :)

shes been acting really weird like for example before i could carry her and she wouldnt do anythig, but now if i do she'll start to move around and if i touch her stomach she'll try and bite me. im afraid that she is pregnant because she isnt spayed and she is a wild cat.
Im guessing shes around 6 or 7 months old.

We have a cat who's lived in our house as long as we have. It's been over 7 years that we've lived here and all of a sudden he poops on a rug in our bathroom. This rug has been in there for over 2 years and he's never done a thing to it, now all of a sudden, for the past month, he poops on it. One time he peed, but mostly he poops. Once we clean the rug, within 2-3 days he poops on it again. Does anyone have an idea as to why he might be doing this?

My can't is constantly clawing my couch despite the purchase of the claw things(sorry i forgot what they're called). I really don't wan't to get her declawed but her claws gets caught in my furniture and she screams when she can't get loose. I'm scared she'll get hurt if not supervised. Is it cruel to get her declawed? Can she scratch herself after? Will she be happy?

I live in a cul-de-sac and the house 2 doors down from mine is rented by 3 people who share accomodation. When we moved here 2 years ago I was happy that my cat will be safe in a quiet street. I rescued him from the shelter and been advised that he suffered previously serious abuse and needs to be cared for.
Since these people moved here my cat has been hit several times( I can hear the person trying to smack him with a broom or a pole- so yards are so close). A couple of days ago I let my cat out in the morning( he is always kept indoors during the night) and I heard this person hitting him and he could hardly stumble back as I was calling him due to a hit on the head. His left eye was closed and after a few minutes swell up completely and there was a big swelling on the top of his head , the skin was broken and he was bleeding.
I don't know who to contact in this case.If I call the RSPCA I will be told that I have to prove that it was that particular neighbour who did it.

I will be getting a kitten soon. The problem is I live in an apartment and I'd hate for the cat to have to be inside 24/7, what kind of life would that be! So I'd like to train it to walk on a leash so that I can take it to the park with me and let it walk with me. I'd like to know any good websites that explain how to train them or any tips that you have.

Thanks for any help!

He just started doing this about a week before I got him fixed about a month ago. Now it is becoming more of a daily hassel. I do have another year old cat who's female, fixed, and does not have this problem. My dad wants to make him a outdoor cat (or most-likely get rid of him), but I love him too way much. When we first got him, his eyes also crossed, and seemed to be deaf ( I thought this because he is all white and has blue eyes). That part is better now, and does not show these "symptoms" anymore. I am unsure about what to do. I hope he does not have a urinary infection. When I got him, he was an outdoor cat and mostly "wild". He was litter trained at the time, and still (sometimes) uses the litter box. Lastly, we got him when he was about 7 weeks old from a friend. Could he be having anxiety issues from leaving his mom possibly too early on? If you can answer any of my odd questions you have made my life a little easier. Thanks!!!

My cat has been licking, scratching, and biting an area on her back right above her tail. It's right along the spine, a small-ish spot, maybe the size of a half dollar or so.

She's going a little bald there, and she has little, tiny (puncture-like) scabs from what I assume must be from biting herself. She had this problem before, once with fleas on her tummy, then from ringworms around her bottom (going bald and such).

I've checked her over many times now, and she seems to have neither, though. What could this be?

Thanks cat-lovers! <3

We would like to let our childrfen experience the birthing process and would keep all of the kittens with us. I am just wondering if it would hurt her.

Hi I have an outdoor male cat who is not neutered. & We are planing to get him done. Will this have an affect on him going outside, like will he not want to go out anymore? Because I don't like him going out (my mom always puts him outside because he meows constantly wanting to go out) and also he urinates outside his box .....may that be bcuz he is territorial? *we have another male cat too but hes neutered*

How many cats do you have?
How old are they?
What color / breed are they?
Where did you get them?
How long have you had them?
What are their personalities like?
If you have more than one, do they get along?

Thanks I was just wondering what other cat people do...
