No, he shouldn't want to go outside any more or less. (He should stay the same). He may indeed stop urinating outside the box-yes I do think its a territory issue. Its excellent that you're wanting to get him neutered to help control the pet population.

First of all, you and your mom need to stop putting the cat outside until he is neutered. It is simply foolish to be doing so as that only adds to the homeless pet population. Just make a perch for the cat in front of a window where there is lots of activity for the cat to watch, like facing the street. When they can see what's going on and have something interesting to look at, it keeps them content. Also, make sure there are plenty of things for the cat to play with. (A simple ping pong ball in the bath tub can give loads of entertainment.) You might notice that after trying these things, your cat might be just as happy to stay indoors (which is recommended, so they don't get hit by any cars or killed by a larger animal.) The neutering should help with his spraying. Try using a different, more absorbant kitty litter. And put the litter box in a place where they will have privacy. Also put a scratching pad next to the box. Often after they go, they like to scratch. It's almost like they are cleaning off their paws.

I read somewhere (i dont remember where) AND I have seen for myself that once a cat gets fixed he is more likely to always stay close to home ( on the steps in the backyard) and comes back in before night. I think this is because they dont go into heat anymore thus dont go roaming around looking for any lady cats. lol
Peeing everywhere outside the box is most def a territorial issue and once u get him fixed and trained he will be alright. I have a very VERY vocal female cat but she meows even when she is not wanting to go outside. Some cats are just cool like that and like to talk to everyone I think that is sweet. Lucky for me though I am deaf and I dont hear her. She has figured that out now though I think because she rubs her face in my face to wake me up in the morning instead and no matter how many times i push my little personal alarm clock cat off the bed she will come right back.lol :)

First of all, neutering will probably not affect his desire to go outside. If you want to keep him inside, you will need to give him lots of toys and a big scratching post and try and stimulate his playfulness inside. Over time, he will probably get used to staying inside all of the time.
As far as him urinating outside of the box--make sure you keep the litterbox clean, and try switching to a different litter. Make sure it is unscented. Also, see if the vet can get a urine sample from him to make sure he doesn't have a UTI.
If he is spraying in the house to mark his territory, then neutering *might* help but it is probably too late. You can try a product called Feliway, which contains pheromones that sometimes help the problem.

I would recommend a good website for information about your cat: http://www.moggies.co.uk/behaviour
I have a tom cat and he is neutered. Was done before we got him at 8 months old. He is the sweetest and dearest cat ever. Neutered cats are far less aggressive and vocal than ones that arent and they also do not spray (unless stressed) indoors.

Neutering/Spaying cats will sometimes change them. My cat was very lovable and would lay on your chest, but now she is lovable but not like before. She now has an attitude. I would suggest you do it because there are enough cats without a home and you don't want to contribute to that. Good luck.

It may or may not affect his wanting to go outside. He may just like the fresh air. He sounds like he is territorial with the other male cat in the house. He may prefer being outside because of the other male cat. /Any further concerns, please feel free to ask your vet. Take care.

Wow, I desire all puppy vendors have been that conscious till now getting a puppy. pass accountability! I desire i could desire to tell you extra advantageous than this, however the ingredient is: cats have good personalities. there is not any way you would be responsive to what is going to make your puppy chuffed or unhappy till you get it. My family contributors those days accompanied 2 male twin cats who was once homestead cats, yet we enable them to outdoor. they could no longer be diverse from one yet another: one is an interest seeker and keeps to be in the homestead besides ninety 9% of the time. His brother is in no thank you to be seen around till evening. yet I could desire to assert I accept as true with you, a cat with domestic dog eyes on a window sill isn't very impressive. Cats frequently like the exterior, and if this is a stable reason, they could desire to have get right of entry to to it. If this is not any longer stable adequate, in simple terms think of how impressive this is while they use your backyard as a toilette fairly of springing up your homestead stinky and imparting you with one extra activity. i'm uncertain how some distance it may pass as quickly as out. i think of spaying/neutering it is going to help because of the fact it could have much less reason to ramble approximately if permit exterior. although, possibly this could be functional: this cat I easily have who spends various time exterior would not pass some distance. on the different hand, all my previous cats, who have been in no way homestead cats, frequently walked plenty further. My father and mom chanced on one in all our old cats 2 bus stops away! My element: possibly in case you preserve the cat interior till this is unquestionably tailored, and permit it out in simple terms as quickly because it sense comfortable interior the homestead (collectively with my maximum recent cats), it won't pass some distance and probably it is going to stay around extra. and of path, provide it a stable reason to stay by utilising treating it great precise! additionally, in case you preserve it in the homestead on a similar time as youthful, it could have much less of a huge gamble to get used to looking nutrition, so it won't disturb the organic international on your community. So, my vote could be the two homestead (in the beginning up) and then outdoor later. stable success!
