The vet gave her a shot of ampillcin and sent her home with clavamox. I am very worried about her. But I don't have alot of money to keep taking her to the vet

Take her in the bathroom while you take a hot steamy shower. You can also gently tap the sides of her chest after the shower to help chest congestion. Do this two-three times/day if you can.

If she doesn't seem improved after a couple days on the Clavamox, call the vet and let them know--they may need to recheck her or switch meds.

It sounds like she has had any treatment she needs. Viruses just have to run their course and there is really nothing you can do to help the situation except possibly increasing the moisture level in your home.

Don't be tempted to give her any human medications you might take to relieve flu symptoms. They can be fatal for cats.

Of course you have to monitor her breathing - if that becomes impaired you will have to go to the vet again, maybe even an emergency vet. That probably won't happen and she will be feeling hunky-dory again in a few days.

Yes, you can help ease your kitty's congestion at home. Turn on the hot shower in the bathroom and make it really teamy in there. Then take kitty, sit down on the toliet seat with him on your lap and alow him to breathe the steamy air in the bathroom for 5-10 mins.

Onion is an excellent natural decongestant for humans, often used by those who can't (or don't like to) take commercial chemical decongestants.

I don't know if it'll work on your cat, or if she'll even stand for being forced to sniff onion fumes, but it's worth a try. If she has a bad reaction to it, stop immediately. Put a slice of raw onion on a plate and put it near the cat so she breathes in the fumes. See if it helps.

Please keep giving her the med as directed. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is a humidifier, or a hot steaming bathroom from running the shower for a few minutes first. Take care.
