I have a 2 year old female cat who I'm worried about. I got a new kitten in July, but the two of them didn't really get on, so last week I found a new home for the kitten. Since then, my cat has been distant and her behaviour is now really worrying me. She is lethargic, won't come to me, is not eating properly and is just not herself. She groans when I pick her up, but I don't think she's in pain, as she seems happy for me to hold and stroke her. I don't know what to do! Is it worth a visit to the vets? Please help!

today while I was at work , one of children accidently let cat out,, since then, we got several inches of snow and zero temperatures,, Live in a double wide mobile home, on back side of home where skirting is and water line runs under mobile home, is a hole big enough for cat to crawl inside under mobile home ,, I have gone outside calling him and a few times he;s poked his head outside hole and cries, but wont come out because he is deathly afraid of the snow,,, Last winter we found him as a tiny kitten almost froze to death ,, This must have tramuatized him of snow, is this possible? And when Iam inside , I can keep hearing him cry under home,,,, Can he freeze to death overnight outside? And any suggestions on how to get him to come out,? Laid his favorite blanket out there by hole,, placed food there to try to coax him out, so far nothing works HELP !!!

Ok my boyfriend is bringing me a kitten and i need a few ideas for names for it. All I know so far is that its grey with dark grey stripes and blue eyes. Playfull, a little cuddly, and he likes to climb. and its a male. What kinds of names would be cute for this. I love books and pop culture and all that so names that reference things such as history, mythology, movies, whatever...are cool with me.

I've had a 6 month old cat at home for about a month, who adjusted very well, and I wanted him to have a play-mate, so I brang home a 4 year old. The 4 year old lived with other cats, so he didn't seem to mind, but my kitten is PISSED. The older cat's been here for 2 days, very sweet mellow cat, but hasn't eaten or come out of hiding. I know he's scared but I need him to eat, drink & poop! What's the deal and how do I get him to eat? Is catnip an idea? Get him nice and loose!?

I'm trying to get my cats on a feeding schedule twice a day. They're all supposed to eat about a cup of food a day, but none of them is emptying their bowls at meal time. I just started this so I understand that they may just not be used to it, but is a half a cup of food too much for one meal for a cat (the smallest is about nine pounds, the largest fourteen)

I want to use Purina Indoor but I'm not sure if I should wait till my kitten is a year old? Does it count as an 'adult' food, or is it ok to feed to my kitten when she's so young?

I have two female cats. Both have seperate litter pans. Every day my female calico (Jasmyn) poops in the floor ONCE. Only once. It's always right beside her litter pan. I'll clean it up, put it in the litter pan, and cover it up and show her. But still, the next day, she's done it again. She pees in her litter pan, and other than the one time a day, she also poops in her litter pan. Any suggestions?

HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM???? I gave her a bath and they seemed to be all gone, put the flea collar on, washed all our blankets, shes only 4 months old, so its not like i can give her a bath every time she scratches. She is CONSTANTLY scratching, and I feel so bad, I dont know what to do!!! She wont have them after the bath, and the flea collar, and the powder, then she will start scratching agian in the morning. Does Frontline (from the vet)really work? Will it stop her from scratching, has any one else solved there problems with frontline?? and if so, after i have stoppped her from scratching, how do i get them out of the house, so she doesnt get them again?? Thanks For the great answers, in my other Q's People, its very appreciated!!

I take care of several outdoor cats. I keep their food and water on my porch. It's starting to get cold outside and their water has been turning to ice. Is there anything I can put in the water to keep it from freezing that won't harm the cats? Is there some kind of product that I'm unaware of? Or am I stuck changing their water several times a day for the rest of the winter?

Also, is it okay if the water is warm (not hot)? Will it hurt them at all?

My vet has advised me that since my 2 12 week old kittens (tested and confirmed FeLV negative) will stay indoors and not contact other cats (I live in a high rise and even if they get out the door they only get into a hallway) that it is not advisable to vaccinate them for FeLV. Her reason is both that it is a waste of money and that the risk of side effects is greater than the almost non existant risk of contact. How are other people with totally indoor cats handling this? Also, she advised that testing/vaccinating for FIV is also not worth it because of the cost and because the test results are so unreliable for cats before they are 8+ months old. Do you agree?

Hi. My cat is very territorial even though he is neutered... if he sees another cat in my house he hisses and runs away. The problem is, I might get a new cat... do you think he'd adjust to it? How can I prevent aggression in my cat? Should I introduce them little by little?

Our kitten ate a bunch of veg. oil, and I believe that's our culprit. Mon. pm, he didn't eat much, but I noticed a hole in his food bag, and assumed he had already helped himself and wasn't hungry. Tues am, he didn't eat well or at all, and I went to the internet. One site said that if ate canned food or baby chicken food, I could wait on seeing a vet. He ate some. Tues.pm, he ate a bit of his regular food. Wed. am, he still wasn't eatting well, so I made an appointment with the vet. He was becoming lethargic. He was seen in the afternoon, and the vet didn't think anything was wrong with him, but kept him overnight and gave him a laxative. This morning, he wasn't doing any better, so the vet did a blood analysis and his levels were not good at all. He has an inflamed pancreas and renal kidney failure. He was given a 5-10% of survival. The vet put him on antibiotics and iv fluid therapy. He seemed much better and is in guarded condition. Thoughts?
