Yes, they certainly can. One of my cats had a upper respiratory infection last year, and ended up in the hospital. He started with sneezing, then his eyes were runny. I took him to the vet, who prescribed antibiotics, nose and eye drops, subcutaneous fluids and trips to the bathroom with lots of steam from the shower - but those weren't enough. 3 days later he was worse, breathing only through his mouth, and got to the point where I could hear his breathing was labored, and his temp was 104 (I take my cat's temp at home), a high temp for a cat. That was Saturday at midnight, so off we rushed to the emergency vet. Our boy had a 48 hour stay at the vet hospital, but recovered nicely.

Absolutely. Cat's can definitely catch colds, and as with us these infections are called upper respiratory infections. Its nose will run, or it may sneeze, just as we do. If your cat has a cold you need to take it to the vet so that it can be given antibiotics. This is important. If left untreated it can get much sicker.
As a side note, cats and other animals can develop the same diseases we develop like cancer, tumors etc.

yes they can - their eyes are usually runny and their nose isn't cool and moist anymore. they may sneeze or even sniffle (my cat actually sniffles, if he wasn't feeling so poorly, i would think it was cute). call your vet - they can prescribe an antibiotic and eye ointment.
the eye ointment is a bear to do if you live alone like me. i basically had to use one arm to hold him down and the other to put the ointment in his eye - much like you would with a three year old child. as for the antibiotic, the one the vet gave me was liquid and smelled like tuna. they gave me a syringe and i fed it to him orally. it was much easier than the ointment!
if you suspect your kitty has a respiratory infection, you should call your vet as soon as possible.

Yes they can! A easy way to tell how they are feeling is their nose. If it is dry and crusty, they are feeling alittle under the weather. Animals noses should be cold and wet.
