Tapeworms look like maggots or white rice. If she has fleas it's probably tapes, since it only takes one flea to ingest to cause tapes. And the bad news is tapeworms can be transmitted to humans, especially children. I would strongly encourage you to take her to the vet with a fecal sample and get rid of the tapes and a flea preventative. In the meantime, anyone handling the cat should wash their hands.

Good, always keep an eye on puppy poo. There are so many diseases that puppies can get. the earliest symptom for many things is diarrhea or blood in the poo. Any white, maggot, or worm looking things are worms. There are numerous different types of worms-hookworms, roundworms, etc. Most all puppies are born with worms. Some only need one round of dewormer while some need 3 serious of dewormers. You can buy some over the counter dewormer at a petstore but I would suggest getting some from the vet. It shouldnt be too expensive. You will want to deworm the pup again in 2-3 weeks (ask your vet because this will depend on what dewormer they are giving). MAKE sure to clean up ALL poop ASAP, even if it is in your yard. worms can get into your grass and stay for about 2 weeks. it could reinfect your pooch with worms again.

most people think they are round worms but my cat just went through this and its a tape worm they break off and come out like little maggots i gave my cat over the counter medication 3 times and he still had them so i took him for the vet you can get a pill of (doctrin sp ?) for about 6.00 however my cat threw that up so i had to pay 15.00 for a shot but after 3 weeks of trying he is finally healthy again good luck

Could be round worms, could be heart worms, could be tapeworms. Take a sample of the worms with you and the cat to the vet so the vet can know what kind of worms to deal with.

Those are tapeworm segments (not roundworms----roundworm don't shed segments and look like spaghetti). I would take a stool sample to your vet so that they can confirm the tapeworms and see if there are any other parasites in there. It's very common for outdoor cats to have multiple types of intestinal parasites so your vet will probably prescribe a broad-spectrum dewormer that covers not only tapes but other parasites as well. Since she goes outdoors, you should discuss getting her on a routine deworming program. Be aware that these intestinal parasites are transmittable to not only other pets, but people as well!! Discuss preventative measures with your vet. Good luck!

That is usually a sign of tapeworms as segments of it pass on. The cat needs to see a vet right away! Here's some information for you on worms that affect cats:

it's tape worms if it looks like grains of rice. You need to deworm her. you can buy medicine at the pet store and crush the pills and feed it to her to get rid of the worms.
