My cat is normally very well behaved - he turns into a demon whenever I try to trim his claws. I have tried holding him in my lap, I have tried holding him on the table with one arm keeping his head from seeing what I'm doing to his claws...none of it works. He hisses and growls and bites no matter what I try.

I would hate to have to take him to a groomer for this, but it is such a trial for me to do it and he is usually very well behaved when the vet does it. I'm assuming he would behave for the groomer as well (as it is a stranger also).

Any tips?

how do I prevent my cat from following me all day and only eating when I pet his fur. I have tried to ignore him gradually every week but by the time I stop touching him he completely stops eating losing alot of weight and starts to moan and scatch in the hallway. I have also noticed that he is licking off his fur when I dont give him constant attention. He is also jealous of my son. When I talk to or give my son a hug he stares and starts to circle my legs.

I thought my cat was a female until I saw it back up to a truck and try to spray the tires. There are no testicles, was he neutered?

I came home from doing my shopping and my 10 year old female cat was resting on large pillows in our bay window. I noticed that, as she tried to get up, she was stumbling. I went over to dislodge her claws and she wasn't stuck but she continued to stumble uncontrolably! I gently held on to her so she wouldn't fall off and hurt herself!

I have elpilepsy myslef, I've had it since I was 6 months old but I've been seizure free since 1993!

My questions are, other than hooking up my cat to an EEG machine, is there any other way to test her brain for seizure activity? Do they have medication to cope with seizures for cats? Do I have to go to a specialized vet or is this common?

Thank you for your helpful advice!

He must have gotten into something outside because his tail is hard and sticky. I tried water on a washcloth but it barely did anything. What can I use to get it off his tail?

This is a serious question. Lately I've notice more 'eye drip' from my cat than normal. Today I've noticed that there is a dark, crusty formation around both of her eyes and it seems to bother her as she scratches at it. I'm going to bring her to the vet, but does anyone have any insight on what it could be? She is 13 years old and otherwise quite healthy.

I always leave water out for my cat but how often should I completely spill it and wash the bowl and put new water in?? Is it okay to just add more water for a while... not sure. Right now I'm constantly washing the bowl but is it okay to leave it for a few days and just refill??

My cat recently died a horrible painful death after surgery to fix his kidney stones. The vet said it was the cat food. Purina Indoor Cat Formula has apparently been killing cats off left and right so if you are feeding it to your cat STOP! Use a cat food with no artificial colors. Just want to keep any more cats from suffering needlessly.

I have a little kitten I mean she isn't that little she is about 6 months old and at the place we got her from she would use the litter box, but at home she will go to the bathroom in the bathroom she has the right idea but I am getting tired of cleaning up her messes in the bathroom, We tried isolating her in a bathroom by herself with just a litter box and food and water and she had accidents on the floor the first day or so and then she started to go to the bathroom in her litter box she was isolated for a week and then we let her out thinking she would use her box and she is still going in the bathroom again, I am getting to aggrivated, we do have two other cats but they use another litter box and she has her own by where she likes to hang out at and the other cats leave her box alone but she wont use it but she did when she was isolated for a week I don't understand anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this problem

I recently bought home anew kitten named Tobey. I already had two cats and a dog. Tobey gets along fine with the cats, since he is used to being around cats. The dog is another story. Roger is a husky mix and is medium sized, Tobey seems slightly scared of him, but curious. Tobey will pounce on Roger, swat at him and try to play, but when Roger responds to Tobey, Tobey hisses. Roger is starting to get annoyed at Tobey. How can I teach Tobey not to provoke Roger?

I'm getting scared from reading about the injectable kind or valium, as opposed to Isoflourine- i think that's it, which seems harmless, fast acting, & leaves their system quickly with no side effects. Do all vets have options or do some use just one. I don't want to worry. Please help!- esp. any vets or vet techs out there!
Thank you!

I have a female black on white cat and she is about 10 years old. She is both an inside and outside cat but during the winter mostly indoors. I have found piss on my fathers bed, on the couch and on my bed as well. I clean her box very often and have not switched her litter type. Do you know why she might be doing this and cleaner to get rid of the horrible stinch?

I have a cat that I got when he was a baby and now he is about 1 year old. He has never been around other cats (except for when he was with his mom and siblings) but he gets along great with my dog (not at first though) anyways, my boyfriend and I recently rescued a homeless female cat. we arent sure of her age but she is small and i would guess she is less than a year. She is realy skiddish but really sweet. Just no fast movements around her. Right now she is living with my boyfriend. In about 5 months my boyfriend and I are going to be moving in together and the cats are going to have to meet eachother. Im afraid that they will fight. They saw eachother for a split second the other day when we first got the new kitty and they both fluffed up and hissed at eachother. Is there anything I could do now to help them get along better 5 months from now? Will most cats eventually get along if you just leave them be and let them get used to eachother? thats what i did with my cat and dog.

My cat is 7 years old(human years) and she just started peeing on the floor. She goes like two feet in front of her litter box in different areas around that same spot. I already checked the obvious stuff if the litter box was clean and it was. At first I thought she was mad at me for being gone a lot so I have been home with her more and she's still doing it. It's not a new litter box or a new home. I don't get it. I tried to rub her face in it and spank her butt but she did it again this morning!!! I can not afford to take her to the vet and I don't know what to do. She still goes in the litter box but she wont pee in it. What is wrong with her. PLEASE HELP.
