You may be able to see one or both of his testes now, but they should both be visible over the next few weeks. If not, your vet may recommend surgery instead of the usual 'snip' to remove the testicle.

Neutered is usually done at 6 months or older.

Shelters and clinics have been neutering and spaying kittens at two month or two pounds. Vets still usually insist on the six month age range and are very out of line in this.

If you want to go on the "safe" side I think four months would be a great time to have it done. The Winn Feline Health Foundation did a long-term study showing that the early procedure was not harmful to cats. You can read their results by putting in a search for the Foundation. Many other interesting studies on cat health are there too.

You can turn your little boy on his back to see if you see little "radio knobs" at the back near his tail. Those are testicles that have not yet descended.

Yes, u should be seeing something already there, it' the only way to tell if the kitten in fact is a boy.
My 2 cats that I got from the Humane Society were spayed and neutered at 8 weeks old because the Humane Society wants the animals fixed before you can adopt them. But my third one was a foudling and my vet wanted to wait till he was 6 months old because of the anaesthesia involved in the surgery is safer when the cat's lungs and heart are fully developed. I'd say play it safe and go by your vets instructions.

The testicles may take awhile to descend and some males cats do not always descend one or both. Some vets will neuter at 8 wks, others believe it is better to wait until 4-6 months. Definitely have it done by 6 months, some males cats esp. if they have Siamese behind them can breed as young as 6 months

Um...they should be showing from birth. Sounds like you may have a female. It should be very easy to tell a male from a female especially at 7 weeks old, unless it is a long hair. Anyway, i believe male cats can be neutered around 4-6 months.

it does not be a stable weight-help plan in any respect. it fairly is a important growth time for this youthful kitten besides, the kitten could have stayed with this is mom till a minimum of 8 weeks, it fairly is extra important than ever which you feed this kitten a stable high quality canned cat food and clean water daily. Your kitten will desire 4 small food an afternoon for a minimum of yet another month.

You don't have to wait for them to "show" to be neutered. Most Vets these days have an early spay/neuter program and they alter kittens as early as 8 weeks.

I agree that his testicles should already be showing. Otherwise, how do you know it's a boy?
