I know its just a bird and it doesn't matter much but the cute little guy could die. He fell out of his nest and now his neck is nearly broked I put him in a old cage thing with a towel, food, and water but I don't know what do to... He's out in my sideyard. He might not make it 'cause he had a brother who died by falling out. I haven't seen the mom or the dad dove. I don't know what do to with him...
I'm feeding him oats but is that the right thing? What should I do???

Well, she has been sitting on it a lot a lot a lot, but she still gets off it every now and then and climbs out of the nest box to go canoodle with her baby daddy ;)
The father of the egg doesnt really take food to her. When she is hungry , she just goes and eats out of the food bin...
I was wondering if there is anyway to tell if the egg is fertile or not? The egg has red speckles on it...Will she lay anymore?
Also, if the egg IS NOT fertile, will she ever get off of it and go back to her normal life?
THANKS!

usually i am home all day until my husband comes home, and if we leave the cockatiel, we put it's cover on until we come back. we are only gone a few hours. i noticed it does not panic when we do that. i was just wondering if it was ok to make it think it is bed time so early, and often. it is with me all day out of the cage so it gets exercise. do i need to teach it that we do have to go sometimes, but that we will come back?

We have a 6 year old female cockatiel who has pulled a few feathers out of her right wing at the elbow (bend) area. A few feathers have grown back in but she is still chewing at it and it appears it may be swollen yet is not red in color. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a lutino lovebird who is less than a year old, and ever since I got her, (I didn't know this was something to look for) she's had a soiled vent (butt). She doesn't act sick in any other way (doesn't puff up her feathers or hang out at the bottom of the cage) and she eats just fine and isn't super skinny or overweight. She's started to lose more feathers (she didn't have many down there anyways) because she's always scratching at it (it must itch). I've tried baths to keep the skin moisturized, different over-the-counter meds, and even changing her diet for a while (it wasn't the food). We don't have a vet in town anymore since ours died in a car accident a few weeks ago, so I can't go see a vet. Any idea what could be wrong with her and how to fix it?

I was wondering if any bird lovers out there know of any craft stores that sell bird safe toy making supplies.I have a couple of online companies that I trust and do buy items from, but would like to buy some wood pieces and maybe some plastic items locally.I know you have to be careful about treated wood, so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks for your help!

I found a egg in a nest with three eggs near it, it must have dropped and the three eggs fell out but one remained in the egg. It has a really tiny hole in it, must be a crack, and i didnt want it to die so i brought it and put it under a lamp to keep warm and ive been turning it every couple hours. Im not sure if the egg is still alive or not. Is there any way I can tell or jsut keep it under the lamp for a couple days?

My mom found a baby robin left under this nest at my next door neighbor's party... it was struggling so she tried to put it back in the nest but couldnt reach it. Spo she made it a little nest in the tree somewhat by the original nest but not in all of the noise of the party. We watched it for two hours to see if the mom would feed it, but she didnt so we went to the store and bought some worms and some baby bird food and fed it... we have been for two days but we have to go somewhere the day after tomorrow, it would be possible to bring the bird, its ponly a car ride but it would be seperated from its original habitat. we could leave the bird, but it would probably die. its probably around 5 days old and will most likley not be ready to take flight before we leave. what should we do? i want what is best for the bird.:)

budgie.let me explain again.I received him 3 days ago from petsmart.he was fine and dandy until i brought him home.he still stays in the same spot and will not touch his food or water unless i take him out of his cage and feed it to him from my hand.he's seen where it is but he will not go near it.do any of yall recognise these as symptoms of some illness or something? wait there's more. he will also not make one sound or chirp unless i've turned some music on.listen to this ,when i look over and see him sitting there he closes his eyes and very slowly opens them kind of like what we do when we're real tired.I cover him up at night and the next morning he's in the same spot staring into blank space.and when i talk to him he doesn't even make a move like most other birds do.I'm very very worried and i think he's depressed badly.alot of yall said that he's just getting used to his environment and new home, but shouldn't he have started doing that atleast a little bit?

We purchased sonny bill from a local breeder, who I was recommended to, he insisted that he clip one of his wings while he got used to us.

He was 10wks old when we got him, and nearly eight months down the track i can see minimal growth in the wing, and he still cant fly..

has this man disabled him for good??

We have has birds before, and they were good to go after about 3 months, bnut we haven't had a parrot so large, im sorry if this is a silly question, but im baffled

I have been looking up of starlings lately, and finding out that they can make exceptionally good and loving pets. I allready have a cockatiel that gets pretty agressive towards mirrors and other pictures of other cockatiels, but does fine looking at the house sparrows nesting outside. Will she or he (we have not really found out its gender)acept another bird living in the same house interacting with each other? And will i be going too much out of my way for another bird of a different species?

is green and whitish and kind of watery so i was wondering if that's normal for a budgie his age or just a budgie in general. and if it's not what can i do? P.S. this is my first time owning a budgie or any kind of bird for that matter.

My daughter had a parot she kind of inherited for a while. I love parots and feel like I have a parot personality. But I've been told they take to one or two people and if I buy one even as a young one, it might not let me near it ?? true ?

My bf found 3 baby sparrows that had been sitting outside his work for 3 days before bringing them home. They have their feathers, flying a little (but not very well) and their eyes are well open and they chirp.
At the moment, he is feeding them a mixture of mealworms and water and is feeding them through a syringe 3 times a day.

Can anyone please give advice as to how much, how often these guys should be fed? Is there anything else that they should have (ie. bowl of water for bathing, drinking, food - if so, what sort of food?)

ANY advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance :)
