I was wondering if any bird lovers out there know of any craft stores that sell bird safe toy making supplies.I have a couple of online companies that I trust and do buy items from, but would like to buy some wood pieces and maybe some plastic items locally.I know you have to be careful about treated wood, so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks for your help!

I go to craft stores and buy those HUGE pony beads (like 1") to string on toys. Those are safe for birds and are of a good quality plastic so that the wont break into tiny pieces that are dangerous. For wood, I just go to craft stores and ask for untreated wood beads, or pet stores sometimes have just boxes of wooden blocks for sale really cheap. I also love to use dog and cat toys because they're very cheap and made to last! Menards, fleet farm, and jo-ann fabrics usually have a great selection of wooden blocks and plastic that are safe. If you want more toy ideas, go to http://www.cockatootrainer.com/toys/
and if you want any more ideas, feel free to email me!

Well any craft store sells stuff like popsickle sticks wooden spoons wooden spools and such.. They also sell wicker woven baskets wicker rounds and you can buy sisel rope and things of that nature there ... All are fine for birds as long as they arent treated or dyed your good to go.. You can also buy acrylic pieces as well from there .. If you want to build a cheap toy for them to demolish go to Home Depot or the equivelent and buy a piece of untreated pine take it home and cut either holes in it or cut off pieces of it to string onto something else.. depending on what type of bird you have this should last awhile.. you can even get heavy beads and string those through the pine block then drill a hole in the top and attatch a bird safe hook and hang it in thier cage or on the playstand makes a clever cheap toy that they will love to chew on...Be creative and good luck

Call a garden center.
They will have un-treated wood
Make sure you know what wood is safe for your birds.
