My mom found a baby robin left under this nest at my next door neighbor's party... it was struggling so she tried to put it back in the nest but couldnt reach it. Spo she made it a little nest in the tree somewhat by the original nest but not in all of the noise of the party. We watched it for two hours to see if the mom would feed it, but she didnt so we went to the store and bought some worms and some baby bird food and fed it... we have been for two days but we have to go somewhere the day after tomorrow, it would be possible to bring the bird, its ponly a car ride but it would be seperated from its original habitat. we could leave the bird, but it would probably die. its probably around 5 days old and will most likley not be ready to take flight before we leave. what should we do? i want what is best for the bird.:)

when you put the nest you made in the tree....did you watch continually for 2 hours without looking away? Visits to feed can be fast and you could easily miss them if you were only checking periodically. If the parents are truly not feeding it, you need to get this bird to a wildlife rehab as you will not know how to properly release it into the wild once it is ready and it will die. It is also illegal for you to be caring for this bird, all native birds are protected by law. Please look up a rehab in your area here:

was the her nest in a tree, if so take a butter container nail it to a tree make a nest in it with grass or hay and the mom will come back to feed it, if its nest is on a house call a local rehibilitater or wildlife specialist,

contact your local spca, or game warden. they will either take it to a rescue or to a bird sanctuary to rehab the bird till it's able to be on it's own.
if you are leaving in 2 days call ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they probly have an answering service that can page an spca agent to come to your home to get the bird.
call ASAP!!!!
did i mention call asap lol
it's likely to die from lack of food than being taken on a car ride away from it's habitat!

Take him/her to the vet. Ask the vet what to do. And check the bird to see if it can make it on it's own.

You shouldn't keep him or her at all. Take him/her to a vet.
