Hi. My friends cockatiel is molting and her attitude is horrible! She does not like to be around us like normally, and just stays in one spot throughout the day before they put her back in the cage (she flies around when they are home). Will this stage pass? Also, she is very cranky with my friend who found and saved her from outside. She loved him at first, but now hates him and wont even let him get close to her!!! Why is this?? Could it be he was not home that much due to work so she bonded with his parents?! LOL soo many questions but I though these birds were very friendly and shes cranky!! Help!

If you know the advice you are giving is good advice based on your experience & what you know to be 100% factual, does it irk you sometimes when someone picks a really stupid answer? I know opinions vary & everone sees things differently but really..

I answered a question from a lady who found a baby bird & was wondering what to do with it. I worked for a wildlife rehaber for a few years & it is not legal to keep & take care of any wildlife if you are not a licensed rehaber or working under one's supervision. Stiff fines if caught. I had to carry my certificate with me at all times in case I found something injured & picked it up. I explained all this to the lady & suggested she take it to a rehaber.

She picked some silly answer, good luck if you could even understand it there were so many ooh how cutie, little birdie, etc. She gave her off the wall advice. I pity the little bird. She stated this answer was good because most suggested she turn it into a rehaber. Duh?

We found a parrot in our tree this morning. My husband was able to get it out of the tree and in a large crate. It has a band on it's leg. We called our vet and they are not able to help. I have been looking on line but not having much luck. Any suggestions?

are pellets a MORE COMPLETE or EASY way to provide complete nutrition? I have a friend who feeds her cockatiel named Stormy Beak Apitete and Veggie Heaven(by beak apitete a veggie based cooking diet), Wheat Grass, Kaytee Fiesta, scrambled egg, and chicken on occasion. She always gets positive feedback from her vet about stormy after every checkup. Is it possible to take pellets place by feeding an extensive variety of vitamin rich foods?

My niece is 6 and wants a bird. I was wanting any suggestions about what is the best bird to get as a first pet bird. I was thinking about a parakeet because I had them when I was younger and enjoyed them. This bird(s) will be kept at her grandparents so she can enjoy it on her weekend visits. Is it better to get 2 birds so they can keep each other company or will 1 be ok by itself?

Does anyone know how I can train my budgie to go on my hand outside the cage? He will happily stand on my finger inside the cage but when hes outside the cage he wil not go on my finger at all and just flys around from curtain pole to another curtain pole.

Thanks

For 3 days now I have been repeating the same word a lot to him while he is on my finger(I know 3 days is not a lot and 2 weeks is the normal period) and today he seemed to respond to it a bit anyway any other better tips to teach him to say joey his name. No record it and play it a lot that can kill them or cause a lot of stress.

Thanks in advance.
