I got him (or her) about 2 weeks ago from a pet store. He eats a lot, but I dont see him drink much. He doesn't play with his bell and swing. The only sound he makes is the same chirping sound. And lastly, I been following the hand training guides, and he doesn't seem to be getting used to it. Whats wrong with him? or am I doing something wrong?

I'm want to get a bird, but I don't know which is better. I know parakeets are the most popular, but some say that cockatiels are more friendly. What do you think?

Would it be better to have two cockatiels so they can keep each other company? If I have only one, will it be sad and want more attention than I can give it?

in my backyard and we think he came from our neighbors down the street probably was used for cock fighting but they moved away and left him. he runs all over the neighborhood but we put some feed and water out for him over last summer when it was like 106 degrees. so now he made a little nest thing under our bushes. the only problem is that he crows and wakes everyone up in the morning. should we call animal control? my close friend has a ranch but there is a some what busy road and i doubt they would want him. what should we do? just leave him in the backyard?

She has been laying an egg every 10-14 days for a few months now. She has no mate so why the eggs and is this depleting her calcium?

I have been researching my situation and have decided that our neighbors' tree (near our bedroom window) is full of mockingbirds and probably at least one male mockingbird. These birds chirp day and night, but are extremely loud at night. They are so loud that 3 fans & noise machines do not drown out their chirping which starts at 11:30 and goes until 3 or 4 in the morning. We have an outdoor dog and she seems to be equally disturbed by these birds. I am looking for a humane way to persuade these birds to relocate. Any suggestions?

I found this huge butterfly yesterday (in Florida) and can't find the name of it or even a picture of it on the net. It was bright orange with bright eyes patterns on each wing, and chunky legs! Maybe it was some kind of moth?

about one per chicken each day. I let them roam free in my fenced in backyard and they have a coop that they can go in and out of. Someone told me that if I kept my chickens in a coop all the time that they would ley more eggs. is this true? Keeping them cooped up all the time seems mean. Also I want to get 2 baby chicks, how old should they be when I introtuce them to my other chickens?

My cat had a bird the other day...luckily I think I got to it before any serious damage was done, it could not fly though. I got an animal rescue org. to come get it. The bird was small, kind of shaped like a chickadee but a little bigger. It had a distictive black mask that came to points above the eyes and to points on the side of the eyes. The mask was outlined in yellow. The head and up to the "shoulders" was a light brown and then the color changed at that point to gray (a light to medium gray). The tail was straight and black on the end and tipped in yellow. It did not have a crest or any red that I noticed. It's not a Cedar Waxwing...but it closely resembles this bird. The mask on the Cedar Waxwing is different and like I mentioned before it had no crest. I have looked and looked but I cannot figure out what kind of bird it is. I live in southern Louisiana..if that helps. I would appreciate any help with the id. Thanks in advance.
