Yes, a sun conure is a great choice! They are probably the sweetest birds in the world. They are easily spoiled though and want to crawl in your shirt and on your back. They will literally beg you to play with them! They are easy to take care of. I named mine sunny, but goldie, mango, kiwi are also good names. They get about a foot long. They aren't messy at all. They do poop, but no more than any other birds.Their life span is 20-30 years. If you expect to live longer than 30 more years, they won't be a friend for life. When they get older, they will usually slow down a little, but they still will want a lot of attention. They are so SWEET! Get one now!

I am a big bird person by design, and I'll tell you why. It's the noise level. I can handle a macaw's warning cry or a cockatoo's screeching and screaming over a conure's call any day of the week.

The sun conures are loud...and by loud, I mean deafening screeches that will cause you a headache in about 2 seconds. LOL

I have a Military Macaw, an Umbrella Cockatoo, a Double Yellow Headed Amazon and a Cockatiel. The most irritating of all of them is the cockatiel and his little warbles. Everyone else talks to get their attention.

Conures make good pets. They have big personalities and can be nippy. You can't leave one in it's cage. They need a lot of quality time with people. A sun conure is VERY loud. Don't get one if you live in an apartment.
Before you get one go to a website and read about them, understand what you would be getting in to

I had two nandays conures and every morning at the first sign of light they screeched over and over. We had their cage covered with a blanket and still they let us know when morning was. They do get very old some i believe as long as 100 years old. They arent hard to take care of in a cage suited for them. We had a huge homeade cage out of rabbitt fencing and built a nesting box for them to hide in. They are beutiful birds but if you live somewhere that noise isnt tolerated rething the conure. Hope this helps.

Sun conures are playful and affectionate. If I had the money, I would buy one myself! They are pretty popular birds and are fun to play with! Sun Conures are also very pretty birds in my opinion!=)

yes, if you have alot of time to give him/her attention
yes, they can be sweet, or annoying
therir diet and cleaning is probably the hardest thing to take care of....1/5 rating of hardness. they get relativly good size, yes they are messy, they live long, and they will be a firend for life. they can change their behavior.....but they are very loud!!
