I have duck eggs and there is one that started pipping at the wrong end and has been for about a day in a half so when i tried to help it out a bit it started bleeding and so i thought i should stop. What is wrong and what do i need to do?

I have a pet Cockateil, she is about 4-6 months old. I have had her for about a month 1/2 and she seems to have only warmed up to me a little. I have her out quite a bit and interact with her as the books and research I have done has told me to. She has a clean cage and always gets her food refilled as soon as it is gone, I change her water often. She is not malting(sp) or anything. The other teil in the house ,as well as my sisters who doesn't live with us, are super loveable and almost beg for petting. They have Fancies but mine is a Grey. We are unsure of the sex of my bird but we are pretty sure it is a female.I am the ONLY one she will willingly go to so that means pretty much I am the only one who interacts with her.She gives some affection but not alot and is very picky about when and how much.. sometimes she is just cranky and nibbles (has yet to bite very hard or draw blood). With all that said... how can I gain her trust more and get her to give/except more affection?

i hv 2 parakeets that i bought fro pet smart. we bought them as a male and female. now, its going to be 2 weeks since we bought them. one of them was getting friendly with my finger. But then for a few days now, they are scared of my finger. I noticed this started to happen when i started taking care of my friends puppy.We are not sure which of the bird is male or female. Both of them hv blue color on their nose, except one has a greyish blue.and also since these few days, one of the birds hv been screaming too much. We keep them by the window during the day and move them to a warmer place by night. But we keep the blinds closed most of the time. Can somebody help as this is the first time i am having a pet bird and dont know anything about them.

i am going to start keeping hens but i can not find out anywere how much and how often i need to put grit out for them, and also is it better to scatter it or keep it in a tub for them to get it, any help would be great.thanksxx

i dont know how old he is but he is still well in his self but he is losing the feathers around his beak and neck it just looks like dry skin. he does not have mites or any thing like that and i cannot get him to a vet please can u give advice or even any web sites thank you

I have 2 parakeets. 1 male, 1 female. the female layed an egg today. Except the problem is that she layed it in a tent that hangs from the top of the cage. I am afraid that the egg will roll out, or if she has more, they will not fit, and will roll out. Is anyone knowledgable about breeding parakeets? Should I put a breeding box in the cage and hope that she uses it? Should I move the egg to a nesting box? Help!

I have wanted a parrot as long as I can remember. I have had other birds, my mother and I had two cockatiels for several years, I also had a yellow budgie I got when I was 10 that just passed away two years ago. My grandmother also raised canaries and lovebirds. And I've spent about the last 6 months looking into finally getting a parrot. I'm not concerned with appearance or talking, I want a friendly, companion bird. I don't mind some noise, god knows my budgie was really loud, but I don't want it to be loud all the time. I'll be able to spend a great deal of time with it, but if for some reason I can't, I want the bird to be okay with it. I have two german shepherds but I don't think they'd bother it. They never paid attention to the budgie and they are well behaved and easily trainable. I've been considering African greys (my personal favorite), senegals, amazons and conures. What would be the best fit for me?

Do budgies lose all their feathers during their first molt?Because my baby budgies had their wings clipped already when i bought them and i was wondering if they grow back during their first molt or what?I know budgies have full molts and "half"molts ,so to say,but i dont know if their first molt is a full molt or a "half molt.I dont know if that makes sense ,but yea.

Hi there--I have a 7-month old cockatiel who sometimes acts as if he's been bitten while he's preening. He will squawk and straighten up all of a sudden and look surprised, sort of stiffly shake out his wings, and then start preening again. Any ideas why he does this? Is there something wrong with the way his feathers are growing in? (He just completed his first molt). My other tiel also completed her first molt, and she doesn't do that. Thanks for any insight!

Thank you for helping. We have a dove, I don't know what type all I know is that it is colored. This bird comes to my house every year to lay her eggs. Well, her nest was knocked over and she is now hurt. I called animal control to see what I can do and they said to put her in a basket and keep her outside. She is in her basket and until I bring her to animal control tomorrow I would like to know what to do. Thank you very much for helping. Please, I would really like to know what to do, thanks. Please help out, this is very URGENT.
