Thank you for helping. We have a dove, I don't know what type all I know is that it is colored. This bird comes to my house every year to lay her eggs. Well, her nest was knocked over and she is now hurt. I called animal control to see what I can do and they said to put her in a basket and keep her outside. She is in her basket and until I bring her to animal control tomorrow I would like to know what to do. Thank you very much for helping. Please, I would really like to know what to do, thanks. Please help out, this is very URGENT.

Make sure she stays warm and comfortable. Get her to drink water if possible and make sure you are gentle with her. The sooner you get help the better, so make sure you get her help as early tomorrow as possible.

I don't know if taking the Dove to Animal Control is the best idea. They can help but they are quicker at putting the Dove down. Call a veterinarian, quickly! Most Vets save and take in animals in this situation. I had a blue bird's nest fall out of a tree a few years back and here in Alabama we have a group of Vets that will save the animals, so I found out. I got to see this bird get healed and released! Good luck!
Oh, wash your hands, use gloves too! Be careful!

Actually I am quite surprised they told you to leave her outside. I took care of some wild birds that my cat unfortunately attacked. The box part is right but outside? The nest was obviously attacked by some predator and of course it's going to come back. When an animal is hurt it is in shock and usually they say to add something warm or wrap it up. Dove can carry mites though and this might be why they told you to keep it outside. Me, I would take my chances bring it in, keep her warm and syringe her water. In a closed room of course.. cant her flying and injuring herself again. If you decide to keep her outside. Please make sure you put her somewhere where the predators cant get her. Like in a shed. You don't want to find a pile of feathers tomorrow morning.

I consider Calypso. except you're a experienced vet, that poultry desires medical help. Cat saliva is likewise poisonous to birds so the poultry will additionally could desire to settle for antibiotics. while you're making plans on bringing the poultry to a vet first ingredient the next day, then this evening you would be able to desire to make useful that's stored heat. i'm undecided what you ought to use on the wound. i recognize for small issues, like bleeding feet or feathers you may stick to flour, or styptic powder yet you may no longer use the powder on deep wounds. Please get the poultry to a vet or organic international rescue center as quickly as obtainable.

i think you're doing everything u can really, if there r eggs in the nest maybe put them with the bird, you could get some wild bird seed and give it to her, i know the mourning doves around my house eat it all the time. i dunno how hurt she is, but if she seems capable of drinking you could put some water in a container and offer her that

you could do some research about doves in your area, but since i don't know your area i can't help u much with that

but yeah, i don't think there is much more u can do than just keep her comfortable

Well, make sure it doesn't have a disease, and handle the bird with care and use gloves. Go to your local pet store such as pet smart or cage world and ask them what they eat, and how they should be watched. You want to make sure you dont feed it something bad, and it doesnt carry anything. Are the eggs ok? You can also have a friend who knows about birds help, and maybe ask a bird vet. Hope it helps, good luck!
