I have 2 sets of breeding pairs and they are both doing the same thing, killing all of their babies. either they have torn their beaks off or they starve them or they will not sit on them once they have hatched. they are also bitting off their toes and arms. it is so sad. iam currently handfeeding 3 babies. I have also taken out the breeding boxes until i can figure out what is going on. their is nothing wrong with these babies. everyone of them looked totally fine. also one of the mothers gorged one of the babies with whole bird seed, it was not regurgitated. I have taken the male out of the cage to see if it was him. still happening. can someone with experience please help me?

This is more of a statement than a question. My african grey timneh is saying hello real plain,....I just noticed it is talking alot better in the room with the light out and the door open,...saying all kinds of stuff. It turned 1 at the beginning of November. I was a bit worried for awhile that it wouldn't talk. But am happy now!
Anyone else get as excited when their parrot starts talking as I do? It is like one of your children learning their first word? :)

...and we've post advertisements around the area hoping the owner will find them (its a tame little thing) but until we find its owner what the hell can we feed it? I dont want it to die on us but theres no pet shops near us (unless you can buy bird food in a supermarket- can you?) or is there anything safe we can give it from our cupboards?!

For the first time in two years I saw one of my cockatiel's sitting on the other's back. They were making funny sounds and it lasted about 3 minutes. Winter is about to start, but we had a few warm days in Taiwan. Can someone tell me if my birds actually tried to make babies? I know something about birds, but this is a first for me.

His claws are bent almost all the way around because he won't use his perches. He gets caught on everything, including the carpets when we let him out of the cage. What should we do?
