Our dove is two months old. He exercises his wings (outside of his cage) but doesn't seem "keen" on the flying yet. Should we help? Thanks!

I have 3 pair of finches in a very large cage on my screened in porch (florida) and today I noticed one of them has a fairly large sectionof feathers pecked off her back. Why is this happening? I have had them for two years and this has never happened.

I've had him for 2 years; he came from another family and is a teenager in bird years. The last couple of weeks he has taken to intermittent screaming - sometimes when an unfamiliar man has been in the house, but sometimes for no apparent reason. There's no pattern. Anyone know what's setting him off - and how to shut him up?

I already purchased one form Angus and Robertson - however it does not show me how to train a cockatiel. Even Dymocks didn't have any - only books on wild birds.

i got this parakeet from freecycle. the woman told me he was about 8 months old when i got him. so now he's almost a year. i guess i've read about how girls have lighter ceres than boy parakeets. he has a rather orangish-yellow cere

also that girls nibble more and he does. and that boy parakeets are blue and girls are pink...well mine is actually bright pink more in the middle and bright blue on the sides of his belly. the rest of him is brown and with white spots.

is there a way to tell?

Me and my sister have decided that a parrot is probably the best pet for my mother. At first we thought parrotlets might be the key, since they are quiet, and can bond well. A cockatiel would be the first choice, but it is too loud for her apartment. A conure might be suitable, or even a budgie. So far those last two seem the most likely. She needs one that will bond with her, keep her comany, not be hard to care for, and that will not be too hard to handle as I will not be there to help her out with it except every few weeks or so. So a small breed seems best. Also, talking is not a priority at all, and we would buy a hand-raised baby for sure!

I'd like to get the perfect pomeranian because i've been wanting one since i've been young, any suggestions on whether I should get a male or female? I'd like to know which one would be a better house pet.

They can't very well sit in the trees. And they can't go very far because when the winds die down, they reappear. Like magic!
Anyone truely know? Don't laugh! I'm serious, and have wondered this for quite sometime. (little birdy shelters we don't know about?)
haha

Thanks, An Ol' Florida cracker
