It is a female doing the high pitched screeching and a male doing the nice singing and humming

Males are the only ones that make the sweet 'singing' type sounds, the females do no. They will call loudly to outside birds or screech and scream at the others to stay away from her toy/food/water/space.

This is normal.

It could possibly be simply that one of them is a girl and one is a boy, and they have different sounding voices. I find that girls tend to be more quiet over all but when they do make noise they screech.

Also, it's hard to know as we don't kwon what you consider screeching.

If you're really worried take your bird to an avian vet and get it checked out, but I think it's just how it sounds. If it's not displaying any signs of discomfort or pain, I wouldn't worry. Good luck!

At http://www.budgietalk.com you can hear several budgie sounds. Maybe that would help you know what your budgie is trying to "say."

There is also a health page that could help you out.

And here is a link for an avian vet:

I like when they do that sound, it usually means that she's annoyed by something. Mine does it when I try to hold her.
