Invest in a BB gun, that'll scare them off forever.
Want a more humane way to deal with the problem?
Get a ladder and a broom, get up to where the nest is and knock it down. Once the bird sees that it's eggas have broken/ nest has been violated; it will move on...away from your home.
Want a hippie verion of dealing with the problem?
Get a taller ladder and remove the nest with your bare hands. Place the nest in a park tree and let nature take it's course.

block off their access points. If that doesn't work have someone go in and scare them out, and you on the ground with a shotgun, unless your a bad aim, i think that will do the trick. Pigeons are like as sholes in this world we have to many of them.

There are pigeon traps available. I believe a company called safeguard makes them.

If you really want to get rid of them, go to your hardware store and get gutter protectors so they can't get into the roof! they don't cost much and they really get rid of them! They are the best way to get rid of the pigeons!

Feed the birds food laced with contraceptive;after sometime the population of the bird would go down!
