One of my passions in life is to travel. To pay homage to this passion, I want to wallpaper my room with a picture of a world map or paint a mural of a world map. Any ideas? I want a vintage-y feel.

We recently moved and I am going to decorate my sons room. Unfortunatly the walls in his bedroom are all pink (Bright pink I might add) And I cant paint them as we're renting. I wanted some sort of theme. He's almost 2, he loves The wiggles and all sorts of vehicles (eg truck, car, plane, train) and also loves animals. Any themes I think of dont seem to fit the pink walls in. I thought of covering the walls with fabric but that requires fixing the fabric to the wall which may mean nails or such which I also cant do. Also, my son my decide to pull on the fabric and rip down it goes! So thats out of the question. I thought of a sunset/sunrise theme but i think it would be a bit boring. Any thoughts?

I want to remove a wall separating my living room from my dining room. I live in a 100 year old home. The wall is on the first floor of a two story with attic. The floor joists run parallel to the wall. How can I tell if the wall is load-bearing?

We just had our floor tiled but an awesome guy who speaks mediocre english. As a result, we know he wants us to "wait" before we walk on it, but was unclear on how many days to wait. We asked "2 days? 3 days" and he said "sure." He grouted the whole thing on Sunday. Should we wait until Tuesday? Wednesday? Any thoughts?

Right now I have burgandy colored carpet, but will be getting a khaki or dark beige. I want to paint my walls now, but what would look good with either color so I don't have to repaint after the new carpet? It might be another 6-9 months before I can get it, but I want color now! Can you help me choose a color?

We just layed ceramic tile in my parents' kitchen and after the grout was down, it sank into all of the the tiny cracks and pores of the style of tile that we picked. We have washed and washed and washed, but no luck, any ideas?

I am set to install porcelain tile flooring in a bathroom where the house currently has carpet. Provided it is in good condition (which I am assuming it is), is it OK to install the porcelain directly on the floor? Do I need to prepare the floor? If anyone has any pointers, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

I always loved the black granite with dark cherry cabinets, but now I am afraid it will be too dark. I'm thinking I should go with a lighter granite. I think black galaxy is too dark, but there is a cranberry tan/brown which brings out the cranberry in the cabinets. The granite background is a mixture of black and some gray. Please help. I don't know what to do. Also what color paint should I use for the kitchen? It has white woodwork, a large bay window and a slider. The room is the length of the back of the house(south side).(lots of sun)

What are the "it" colors that will still be "it" in a couple years !!?? I like the thought of a light purple in the bath, but then are you stuck doing pastel colors in the rest of the place ?? The ceilings on the first floor of my house are about 7' 4". Is it possible to replace the wood joists that support the second floor with low-profile steel joists? I have seen some box-frame steel joists that are 100mm deep (4 inches). I think that this could increase the ceiling height by as much as 6". Am I crazy?

We're planning a bathroom remodel and wondering how much we should be at home for it. Guessing it will take at least a month. Someone "can" work from home most days, but we dont really want too. Although does it make a big difference in workers showing up, asking questions, etc?

I let my teenage daughters and their friends sign their names and draw all over their walls with Sharpies..(stupid hey?) I used two coats of primer (expensive kind) then 5 coats of paint. The marker bled right through. I heard putting Laquer over the marker may work. Has anyone tried that?? and if so, what kind? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I recently adopted a "little Person" at full grown she will be around 3 feet. do you know if there is a website that specializes in dwarf furniture, kitchen cabinets, and other things.

I have seen little people's houses on televeision and they had little kitchen cabinets and small furniture,

I just would like to knoe where i can purchase these things to help my daughter feel like a normal person who can do the same things that a taller person can do.
