I purchased a house that was built in the 50's. The original mahogany paneling is still up on the walls in the living/dinning room. There was only the one coat of stain put on the paneling and there's no damage to any of the panels. I purchased the house from my grandmother and I have about 2,000 square feet of paneling. I'm putting up drywall in a few months and I'd hate to just throw the panels away. Are there any places that will re-buy the panels?

The boards are tongue and groove, 4" to 9" wide, and 2' to 10' long.

I wanted to refurbish an armoire - began to sand it and sanded too hard along the rims of the armoire. What do you do when that happens? Also, upon sanding down the top of the armoire, there are a bunch of stains in the wood. Ideas to fix this too? Obviously, just beginning my woodworking career.....Thanks!

Underheating cable was buried in 50mm screed but the surface is not level, some kind of floor leveller is needed, 15mm variation in some places.
on top of the floor leveller I intend to use ceramic tiles with flexable adhesive.
But will the floor levelling compound (b&q of febfloor) be likely to crack ??

Could really use some advice from people with good decorating sense. Our home is really rustic with exposed oak beams and tonge and groove cealings, wood walls (not paneling) and wood floors. The room for we are buying for is open so you would see my whole kichen, eating area and livingroom area when you walk in. We have already picked a really rustic oak table with antiqued black windsor chairs but when it comes to the color for the couches we are at a total loss. My husband is dead set agaist microfiber after a spill test at a furniture store last night and with 2 kids our better option is leather. With so much wood I'm hesitant to do brown but don't know if black would make it look too much like an office. Any ideas are appreciated.

know the distance allowed to the nearest boundary. i am hoping i do not need to pay for planning permission and understand having 'permitted development' would be free. The council told me the maximum size allowed for the conservatory is 70m3. My conservatory will be around 39.6m3 but can be altered if needed. Thank you xx

Using a mix of neutrals, honey-colored woods, and pops of wave-crested blues, the Amalfi Coast is the inspiration for the color palette of my new hotel project, The Fairfax in South Beach. It's beachy and easy, but with a certain elegance.

My grout is discoloured (a sort of reddish brown colour) but doesnt have any mould in it. I've used grout pens before but they always seem to end up painting half the tile as well. Any suggestions or products which can do a good job?

I live in Upstate New York and we had a sudden thaw 2 weeks ago. Three feet of snow melted in 3 days. This is the first time I've seen standing water in my cellar. I have no sump pump, but there's a hole in the center of the poured concrete floor that goes directly into the sewer line so water can drain off. It has somewhat abated now, but there are still very damp spots on the concrete. The water looks like it's coming in right where the floor joins the stonework wall (the house was built around 1900).

I've had three contractors come and give me estimates, the least expensive was for $1000 and they just spray some sealant chemical on the cellar walls and floor where the damp spots are. The most expensive was $14,000 and was to install some sort of drainage system around the entire interior perimeter along with a sump pump. The other alternative is to do nothing, but will a damp cellar eventually weaken the house's structure?
