I am considering getting laminate wood but have two older (11 and 15 years old) dogs that sometimes have accidents and was wondering if they would ruin it. I may have to go with travertine.

I've heard its possible to paint over old bathroom tiles using first a sort of 'primer' allowing you to paint over them. I've heard mixed feelings about this in terms of the paint starting to peel off.

Anyone ever used this or have any other tips for painting over old tiles?

We were planning to put a wood floor in our new extension sun-room - birch or something similar fairly light coloured. An interior designer thinks we should go for shiny cream porcelain tiles and now we don't know what to think. Any thoughts please?

my room is very very small. we have a guest room but no one sleeps there, usually our guests sleep on the couch cuz they like that better. since the two rooms are right next to each other and both are very very small, i asked my dad if we could knock down the wall in between them. unfortunately he said they were something like a bracer wall i don't remember what he called them. but it's like if you take it out then it will weaken the structure of the whole house. i feel really really compressed in my room and i can hardly breathe. and i'm not even claustrophobic! goodness gracious anybody have some advice on how to fix this problem?

I have two 8X10s that are family name origin on one and the familly crest on the other. I want them in the same frame and I saw the type I needed at the store where I got it. I figured it would be way less expensive outside of Walt Disney World, so I waited until I got home. Now I can't find what I need. Help!

I removed wallpaper from my bathroom and have found that the old sizing on the wall has peeled away leaving bare plaster in places. I have sanded the walls but the next day the leftover sizing has begun to peel again. What is the best way to prepare the wall for paint? Should I re-size the walls or try to remove all the size before applying the primer? Also what is the best primer for this situation?

I'm trying to redo my room and my crazy dad won't let me do hardly anything. i have discovered that blue promotes peaceful sleep and i want to do my room with blue but i don't want it to be super overpowering. i'm not allowed to paint the walls, which is stupid, and my room is only 11ft by 11ft. ITS TINY. my bed is full size so i have like no room. plus, i don't have the time or energy or HANGARS to hang up my clothes so i sleep on like 1/3 of my bed and the other 2/3 is taken up with like all of my clothes. i'm about to go insane because i feel so closed in and also i feel like i look awful all the time because all my pants gap at the waist (big big butt stretches the waist line, any tips for that?) and i don't know how i'm supposed to store stuff. the skinniest boxes don't fit underneath my bed and my closet is about as big as a phone booth. please help!
