I know those are two major neutrals. So, I need a nice bolder color, I think. I'm not really into the seventies retro kind of stuff. I'm more traditional. Unfortunately, I live in an apt. so, I am not allowed to change the wall color and can't afford to change the carpet.

If I go on 1 side it looks dark, if I walk to the other side it looks lighter. Is tis common? It was hand made in India. I hope it is a good rug, I paid alot for it. I can still take it back but I think it looks cool so I don't really want to.

We have a tiny walk- through bathroom (one door in my bedroom, the other in the family room) that my husband and I want to remodel ourselves. Are there any online sites were you can design your own bathroom with a given dimension?

Do you do ceiling or walls first? Horizontal or vertical or does it depend?

Any tips on installation when you are doing a 3rd floor attic that has a combination of knee walls and slopes and crazy angles?

Thanks!

I am remodeling and bought this peel-n-stick tile from Lowe's. The house is old and the hardwood floors are damaged in some places and stained with paint. We want to cover them so would this tile work? Will it stick or do we need to lay something else first? The space we are tiling is small and we were trying to go the cheapest route...Thanks in advance.

I do not want any big changes. Do I just put up plastic sheets? The walls are not even.

My fiance and I just purchased a house and we will be moving in by the summer. We are now in the process of picking out colours for hardwood flooring, carpet (upstairs), kitchen cabinets, kitchen counter, ceramic tiles in the kitchen, front foyer, 3 bathrooms and the laundry room.
He thinks that the dark hardwood will make the rooms seem smaller (they are not small rooms) and wants to go with lighter colours with everything. I like dark hardwood and lighter tile with light kitchen cabinets.
Does that sound like it would look good?
I was also thinking of a black granite kitchen counter for contrast.
yes/no?

I'm having a new hardwood floor installed in my kitchen, same color as my cabinets--light oak and have gray counter tops. I'm not sure what to do with the kitchen walls. We have a sitting room off the kitchen that is light yellow and the dining room is green with a light wood panel on the bottom. What would be the best way to tie all the rooms together and still give the room a homey feel?
