I am digging an underground passage over to my mistress's house, and She Has started one from her side. We live about a half a mile form each other. How long do you think it will take to dig a walkable tunnel, under, basicly hard sand and sandstone, if two people are digging towards each other? and where should I distribute the tailings so it wont be noticeable. We dig at night, after work, and we have been dumping it out if suitcases into the river, by the park at lunchtime, but it's starting to make a little sand bar., maybe we should start landscaping the yard with some of it. maybe a little terrace in the back yard?....

We recently moved out of a house that we were renting and the landlord is trying to charge us for so many things, including new carpet and repainting the entire house.

I was told by people and I wanted to know if it was true; that under Ohio law the landlord has to put in new carpet and repaint the walls every time someone moves out and the rerent the place to someone else.

I don't mind paying for things that we did and for a portion of the carpet where my son spilled kool-aid, but they are making up things. There was nothing wrong with the walls, but they are charging us for repainting the entire house. I don't think this is fair at all.

I don't know if we have grounds to fight them on this or not. Please help.

I am considering buying a membership to DirectBuy www.directbuy.com

The membership cost is hundreds of dollars and they only give you once chance to join the club. I'd hate to give my money to someone who seems so "execlusive" but, according to the commercials people are savings tens of thousands by joining.

Remodeling a small section of house, and just wondering if it is worth the extra 3-4 thousand dollars in the long run. I dont live in a booming real estate market either.

Looking to get hardwood flooring put in this area, tried to measure as much as I could, the sections that are blacked out are areas that do not need the hardwood, so that is why they are blacked out. Can't figure it out.

I had a question last week about this, but a new development has come about. They're building a new Wal-Mart about a mile away from my house. My wife says that during the day, they blast on the site, and that when they do, she can feel the entire house vibrate. I've noticed cracks appearing in the walls and near the ceiling. One crack in particular is a hairline crack that stair steps up the wall.

Can something like this do damage to my foundation? And if so, do I have any rights? They were supposed to tell us when they started blasting, but they never did.
