For my 13th birthday my dad is letting me redo my bedroom. I love music and I play the guitar so I want to do a music themed room. I have almost black furniture with silver hardware. There isn't a set limit but it can't be too expensive. Any decorating ideas would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I'm a girl.

I was thinking of ordering a duvet. Do they come filled or do you have to order the filling for them? I didn't want to spend that much on something that may be totally unneccesary.

I just bought Glidden's Acrylic Latex primer for my bedroom. It was the least expensive one at Home Depot. Is it good? Do I need more than one coat? Thanks!

Is there a dust collection system or 'dust collection skirt' for the PERIMETER of a random orbital sander? Note: in place of the usual dust bag, I already use a shop vac vacuum cleaner which sucks up dust through the holes in the sanding pad. The vacuum attachment I am looking for for the PERIMETER of the sanding pad is to capture the dust that escapes the PERIMETER area which makes it impossible to sand in a truly dust free manner. Thanks, Sandt

When you reglaze the tile in your shower or tub, do you glaze right over the grout? Also, how well does this hold up/resist scratching?

Is there a point? Who conceived it? Is it meant to be trendy? Is it meant to be energy efficient? Is it a Southern thing? Why, God, why?

White on the bottom - blue on top. What height should I put the separation and I will add in a shelf at this juncture.

I want to redo my front bathroom. It's basically a guest bath/child's bath. Right now, the walls are a very light sage with eggshell trim, cream shower curtain, rug and accessories.

I want to change it. I'm not afraid of color (my master bath has navy blue walls, silver accessories and a very tiny touch of yellow). I would like something that will work both as a child's bathroom and the main bath, so no kid's characters. Oh, it is a smallish bathroom as well. White appliances and chrome faucets.

I'm having trouble coming up with a color for the walls, plus accessories that with coordinate. Any advice?

Thanks.

I want to soundproof my living to create a jamming and recording studio. I don't want to tear down any walls or anything like that I would like some suggestions on things I could use to cover the walls, or any other non expensive or damaging alternatives.

Just wondering if anyone has tried and how you like them. You can go to this website, even watch a video demo. Let me know what you think. I think they seems pretty cool for a small area, like a backsplash. I've seen them on ebay too. They're not very expensive to begin with but I guess you could get them cheaper on ebay.

we have purchased a double wide mobile home with the old steel siding. we have to replace all the windows in the home, so we are looking at what would be inexspensive to replace the siding. I dont really want vinyl because its out in the country and wanted it to be natural looking, thinking about a green steel roof. It has a 10 inch overhang on the roof, would it be wise to put furring strips horizionaly and maybe put 1 x 12 or 10 pine boards with strips on the gaps, we cant afford to put log siding. Any other ideas that arent costly?

Look... Here's the scoop: I want to renovate my home such as replace some windows, redo the fireplace, create an ensuite master bath, etc... but I'd like to learn to do these things on my own. How do I learn? Any recommendations.

I'm drilling a hole in my bathroom wall, but I hit masonry/brick after drilling through the plasterboard. I need to drill an extra say 5mm before the screw will fit. What should I do, continue to drill a bit more into the masonry with a stronger drill bit?

The color is a very light creamy yellow with tall slender trees, flowers, and a cottage. My mother is 85 and would like to complete her dish pattern that she loves so much. I would be interested in all pieces. I have already checked several auction sights for over a year.

I want to repaint my bedroom walls. At the moment it's all white, and just plain dull and lots of the paint has peeled off, making it look really mouldy. If I decide to repaint the walls using a different color, do I need to peel off the old paint, and then only proceed with the new coating... or are there any other processes involved before doing this? Thanks in advance.

I have an area in my tiny apartment reserved for dining and living room, there is no room in the kitchen to eat in so I need space for sofa as well as a table and 2 chairs. One wall has wall to wall windows, the opposite wall to that is completely open to the hallway. The area measures 12 by 14 (12 feet on the windows side). Any ideas for arrangement of furniture?

I'm looking to get a new bed that I plan to sleep on for at least...the next four years. I have a relatively small bedroom, and I would also like to add some seating space. I was looking at a futon/sofa-bed so I could kill two birds with one stone. My problem is is that on the past futons I've been on, they have been much squishier than a regular mattress and they don't seem like they would be good on my back if I slept on them continuously. Are there any Futons/sofa Beds with two mattresses? For example, when it is in the couch set up, you would sit on one mattress and the other one would support your back, while on the bed set up, the two mattresses would lay together creating one queen or full size mattress. I need to find one like that because that would solve my mattress-firmness problem. Buying a couch and a bed is not an option. Thanks!

I use like fabuloso and pinesole to mop and that doesn't seem to do the trick. So does anyone know what I can mop with that will do wonders on my tile?? Would like a bleach cleaner work?
