Try putting up a half wall-half the lenght of the room from floor to ceiling. I had a large laminated panel (ordered from IKEA) that was to be used to enclose my refrigerator. Instead I used it as a partition to seperate two girls area in one bedroom. A cork bulliten board, calendar & of course a mirror was added to both sides-they were allowed to personilize their side. This was secured with 4 simple brackets 2 top & 2 bottom. At the base I placed 2 small bedside dressers (on each side) that double as a desk surface. There was just room enough to fit 2 twin beds. Two identical hanging lamps & a wall-mounted TV completed the room. This worked well. Other ideas are a screen or even a lighted screen that you can make yoursef with basically a box-like framework-with christmas lights that go inside and stretch fabric and staple to the frame-usually at the base where it won't show. I did this in a dark basement using muslin as a fabric. Although I didn't (yet) - you can use fabric paint or dyes to the material. IKEA also sells a lighted screen with metal legs. Shutters, canvas panels, bamboo and many materials can be used as a screen by using simple hinges or a piano hinge to attach them together. Hope this helps!

A partition (wall type like they have in offices - thickness also gives a bit of sound reduction) or a decorative screen. You can make a screen by hinging window shutters (new or from a salvage supply.) Also a feau/ bamboo shade or matchstick blind (builder supply has different lengths/widths) hung from clips in the ceiling. Roller clothes hangars can be draped with a thick curtain (like hospitals use). Hospital ceiling curtain system also an idea.

It depends upon how large the room is but you can place a bookcase in some strategic spot. If it has a back, that is all the better, then no one can look between the books..

install a curtain rod or clothesline across the room, and hang a curtain, sheet, or drapes from it.
