Has anyone bought a house and then realised that they had made a dreadful mistake - too much needed doing to it - horrible neighbours etc etc.

How can I save all of my books from getting damaged and eaten by bugs and mites. My apartment is very moist, especially the closets, where I am currently storing my books and boxes. some of them are growing mold and I notice little mites in them. My space is limited, so I need something that works and clutter free.

I just moved to a new apartment, and the living room is very small. The cabinets in the open kitchen/living room are red laminate with silver handles, i guess it's trying to be modern looking, and one wall in the living room is painted red, the others are white, and its darker hardwood floor. The kitchen is visible from living room, it's red cabinets, white appliances, and dark greenish granite counter. I have no idea what my color scheme should be! What color sofa should I get that goes with a red wall? I want a contemporary style, but kind of retro looking maybe.

i am doing a home ec. project on interior design and need to know how much it would cost for these materials in a new home:
how much it would cost to furnish the home, costs of cabinets and granite countertops, and how much fabric materials such as bedding towels, ect would cost. anyone who could help would be greatly thanked!!!

I have a 3 yearl old A/C coil on the inside of a duplex unit. The condensing unit outside has to be replaced. The coil is a 10 Seer. Of course you now have to have a 13 Seer. One A/C company said I have to replace both, the condensing unit as well as the coil because if I don't replace the coil to match, the liquid will run into the compressor & it will go out in about 5 years. A different A/C company said that I do not have to replace the coil & that it will only pull a 11 or 12 Seer. He said that is all that means. Who is right???
